Stay behind, I do not want you to see this scene, we are all on edge of a breakdown, let us not push our luck too hard.

I'm used to this sort of vision, IL will go and verifiy if it is someone we know or another of this creatures.

Max moves to see the corpse and if he can recognize a human or a monster. His ears are wide open to hear if monsters are coming.

It's another of the smaller ape-like creatures, like the ones you saw before. As Max killed it before Percival saw it, there's no need for a sanity roll (and Max is immune to sanity loss to these creatures)

Max looks at the creature and listens for sounds but only hears the retreating scuttling of the creatures.

Percival, no need for a Biology roll as you inspected these before.

You move on slowly through the tunnels. It's clear there is life here, every so often you hear the soft scuttling, the clattering of bones as things move out of your torchlight. The tunnels wind and seem to form a maze-like structure.

A serpent Master, at this stage we will easily drop in his nets. My advice is to find another exit and come back with reinforcements. Let's find another way, I do not want to see any new horror.

Even if he is, which I clearly believe is not the case, he himself would be a monster more powerful than the rest of these. And he would be the one who created the organ atrocity we saw earlier. So I'd rather concentrate to leave this place and get back to civilization to fight another day.

Percival shakes his head. "I pray you are right, Harmon, but I don't know that I believe you are... I cannot help but feel we are still headed into whatever... society... they have down here. Think! We've only seen a handful of these... things. Hardly enough to stop a group. And yet, this etching implies a group was down here and unable to leave."

He purses his lips, brow furroughing in thought. "I agree, I don't think Joshua is the serpent. If we take everything at face value... I would hypothesize the Winscots were working for whatever this Serpent is. It could account for the family's prior standing in town. If anything, I would hazard that this is Joshua's attempt to return to power.

Of course, I don't know if I believe that... but then again, I'm not entirely sure what to believe at this point. Except that we need to keep looking for a way out. The tunnel we entered cannot be the only point if entry. I just hope we find what we seek."

To me we are right on their turf. The carved door seemed to be the entrance of their lair, the horrible organ, the mushrooms gatherer, the greater beast that attacked us, the repugnant cannibalism we witness and finally this last note makes me think we are going straight in the mouth of this serpent.

We should go back as far as we can and try another tunnel far from this direction.
