For newcomers

There’s two small story threads which is probably the most interesting to you:

Scene 1: The manor and Scene 2: Cursed blood.

The game rules are summarised here but it’s not essential for now. The other rules are mostly character creation

There’s a setting sub forum for game notes, but the most relevant would be the character’s presentation (bowl took over Claire and I’m currently NPCing Elias, but we also lost Alexander)

Sounds good. Catching up may take longer than anticipated -- there have been some verbose players in this game! :) But I'm most of the way through the first IC thread.

Hey, folks -- I don't know if I'm going to be able to do it! Every Alexander post is about a page long, so it's taking me a long time to catch up. I only have about 20 minutes each morning for PbP before work and kids consume the rest of my day.

Would it be possible to get a synopsis of what is going on and where we are? And will it be acceptable for me to potentially take over Alexander, but post only a few lines each time rather than a page out of a Mary Shelley novel? I'm intrigued by the concept of the game, but I fear I am not in a place IRL to give the energy that the previous players have to the writing aspect that seems to be the norm here.

Not complaining, mind you! Just wanting to air my apprehensions and bow out now if necessary, so CESN can find a player who can better meet the expectations of the game.

I think that's perfectly fine. Just regular GP post length will suffice. I think that's what most people are writing.

As for a summary, I think CESN is better suited for that than me

You read the first scene right? In the second one everyone makes it to the Manor and meet each other. The Manor is mostly empty and abandoned and each character experiences some supernatural event (triggers their curse). Alexander’s curse was something related to his inner demons and his sense of "lost behind salvation" sort of darkness. Elias met some ghosts, but he did not see through it. Among them he recognised his presumably dead aunt. At some point you all get into the library, figure out no one actually died and have no clue what is going on, so you decide to visit your grandmother’s mausoleum… at night… in the dark… in the graveyard… in an horror game … 🤣


this is the end of the 1st day and I was planning 5 or so, so this may run for a while 😅

I don't think so. Not yet anyway. If a good spot arises narratively than Nathaniel can get one.

oh wow you managed to find an image that is not too far off the original! I think changing avatar is fine, in the end, he will "change personality" for sure, since it's a different player :D
