This is not a recruitment post, but gauge if there is enough interest for me to continue brewing on this idea.

Group size: about 5 players

System: Kids on brooms. Together we will define the school, the world (if we make our own, or deside on a established one like Harry Potters), the teachers, ect. What is pre-defined is the school is surrounded by mist all by 2x3 days a year.

Pitch: You are teenagers just about to start at this magic school. It's a boarding school as it is surrounded by an enchanted mist that only lifts at Summer- and Winter-solstice. At any other time, if someone tries to pass the mist they will feel their mind getting lost in the mist. There are two trolly systems (2,3) where food and supplies can be pulled through the mist and onto school grounds.

Player expectations: The players will provide 60% of the adventure themselves. I will be herding cats and spicing up the ideas that you bring to the table. I have some plot ideas and will run with your ideas, but I expect the players to push the adventure forward.

If this game starts, then when? I expect that will be december or january 2023

I'm definitely interested. This game sound completely up my alley.

I would want to use a setting created together, however, not something established.

I haven't picked Brooms up yet, but I own and have read Kids on Bikes and Teens in Space and enjoy them a lot. The concept is very interesting, though I would rather avoid the specific setting of Harry Potter. Mostly because I'm not a fan of the author specifically, but also that world doesn't have good internal logic in my opinion.

And yes, I acknowledge that looking for "good internal logic" in a fantasy storytelling game about students at a magical academy is a little silly to start with, but when combined with the bigotry, it's just not appealing. Also, I'm not knocking anyone who enjoys the franchise, I was a fan for a while, it's just not my personal jam any longer.

I think you'll get a lot of interest as I had to step away from my game that was very similar and some of my players might like to jump on this. I was looking for someone to take it over since we had done so much work but I know not many people would want to take over a game with a world built by others.

In that case i will return to pondering. I'm starting a new job 1st of December and once I find my feet there, and ended the other game I'm GMming, I will make a recruitment post, where i will tag everyone who showed interested

Could it be that I plan a situation that the students must deal with, and just can't run away from?

This seems right up my kind of alley... You can use my lego Hogwarts castle as the setting. LOL
