A famine has swept through the grain fields of southern France. Whilst the northern nobles continue to make merry in the Ils-de-France, only death and destruction await the rural peasants of Aquitaine. A failed crop, soured milk from the cow, and mysterious diseases blight this otherwise perfect country idyll. Winter comes ever closer and it is said that dark things begin to be seen in the night. Witchcraft and devilry are on the tongues of the frightened people as they await and hope in vain against occultism forces posed against them.
If you wish to survive at all to see another year, you will have to take things into your own hands. The absentee nobles are not to be trusted and all you have left is yours to cling to if you can hold it.
