GAME CHAT 4b: Return to Salvation

The Party returns to Outpost Salvation.

Ovak is going to do a few things after arriving back. Once is to put both dead bodies to the ground. Will make sure Moisie's body gets a coffin and grave marker. For party cash, sell off all the gear for both. After a short rest Ovak is going to her HD recovery to get the rest of her HP back. :) So tomorrow she will be at full ready to do this again.

Dub-dub respectfully lays down Kata’s body and carefully collects his blanket and rope. He pays Mordacky the five gold for the troupe and goes to speak with Malbor. "Instead of taking your coin, I’ll take a drink, how about that? I’m assuming you’ll need one after today."

Ovak was going to get you new rope and blanket to replace the ones you used. And not bloody. Not a real expense either. She is replacing her blanket as well.

"A small price to pay for my life and you are right. I could very much use a drink."

Malbor heads to the bar with William.

Malbor sends a message to Fredo..

Dub-dub goes after Malbor, joining along side him, to the Grey Beyond.

"Were you trying to get through that door inside the fog?", he asks, making conversation on the way.

"We didn't get very far. We were attacked by a living cloud or spell. Nearly killed all of us. Likely why no one goes there."
Once again it is difficult to tell if that was a joke.

Ovak adds in, We will do better next time. The cloud is gone.

The party arrives at The Gray Beyond. The bartender provides drinks to those who wish to partake.

Shortly after you settle in a familiar face appears.
Kalli orders a whiskey, raises an eyebrow, looks everyone over then hesitates a moment before speaking, "How has the Grey treated you so far?"

Ovak says flatly, "Mournland took two of us. Spell Cloud. We are regrouping and will head out tomorrow."

Mordaky accepted Dub-Dub's payment, stowing it away separate from his own coin. He then joined the others at The Gray Beyond and ordered himself a drink. When talk of the Mournland came up he could feel a lingering pain in his lungs flare up. "Was not a great foray, dat place is way deadlier den I anticipated for sure. Will make the score dat much sweeter." he tipped his glass and poured a small amount of the whiskey inside out onto the floor. "Sad we lost so many dough"

Fredo nods and follows Malbor, his new friend.

Joining the group at the table, Dub-dub orders a bourbon and casually sips on it while he listens in on the conversation.

A look of sadness flashes across Kalli's face before her expression hardens, "If this battle occurred near the warehouse it could give away the location. The thing that attacked you might have kept other scavengers away. You guys aren't the only salvage crews here you know."

Ovak replies back to Kalli, Well. We will find out soon. We rest today.

Looking to the new ones, Kalli here is our employer.

Dub-dub finishes a sip of his bourbon. He swirls the rest around as he stares into the brown liquor. After a moment, he sets down his glass, clears his throat and says, "Kalli, its nice to meet you. The animals call me Dub-dub."

He pauses for a beat then says to Ovak, "Miss, I understand the need to mourn a loss. Trust me. But if your employer here is right, the little one’s death would be in vain if someone else gets there first."

He weighs his words for a moment, looking for a response, but continues. "I noticed she had some fine tools among her belongings you collected. She seemed to be prepared for a locked door such as the one we saw. I wouldn’t want someone else to open it before we do. Let the deaths of those two mean something."

His hand is quivering ever so slightly as he reaches for and quickly downs the rest of his drink. He sets down the glass down purposefully and stares into the emptiness of it. "There’s no honour in a meaningless death." he says to no one in particular.

"Are ya suggestin' we head back to da gray withou' rest?" Mordaky said to Dub Dub, not sure if he was gathering their meaning.

Fredo pipes up. "Man, we are spent. There's no sense in heading over somewhere if we die, or if we get grifted by some thieves. As far as anyone knows, there's still great dangers in there. I say we rest the minimum amount possible to be able to head into the mists again."

"On the other hand, competitors will likely die to horrible traps and monsters, potentially clearing out such dangers and making our next foray that much easier." Malbor adds, without any hint of humor.

Fredo relays his friend's thoughts to the group, and says, "I think that settles it for me; I vote that we rest."

Kalli acknowledges Dub-dub with a slight nod. "It is a difficult decision that all of you must make. I wish you the best of luck in whatever decide." Kalli finishes her drink with a vacant stare then gives all of you one last look as she turns to leave.

Mordaky finishes his drink as well, "If it's all da same to you, I'm to bed. Meet at da wall in da morn?"

Malbor speaks into Fredo's mind.

~ If you don't mind sharing a room, I wish to avoid any trouble like I had last time. ~

He nods, and then makes arrangements to share a room with Malbor.

Ovak will retire to her room and rest for the night. Breakfast and leaving to happen soon.

The night passes without incident.

Dub-dub shrugs his acceptance of the vote and wishes everyone a restful sleep. He heads out of the tavern and retires to the town’s edge to get some sleep.

In the morning, he rolls up his new bedding neatly and communes with a small mouse that had been underneath it. He finishes his morning routine with a short meditation, contemplating the day ahead, before heading back to the tavern to meet the group.
