Are only custom character sheets allowed? I just tried to submit my dnd 5e character and it's not letting me.

Let us know when we can submit our characters because the submit character button isn't on the game yet.

We can't upload characters because the game setting is set to only accept "custom" character sheets. If we create a character using "dnd 5th" it will not let us submit them. I created a test character using "custom" and I could submit it but I don't want to recreate my character in that format that doesn't support 5e at all.

Can you add the dnd 5e character sheets to it so we can submit our characters for approval? Just curious. Because I want to submit them in dnd 5e format since that is what the game is and dont want to do a custom character sheet

But on a serious note - not a complain but rather an excuse by me: when you know nothing about the world lore it is simplest to chose a PC that is disconnected from that world.

You never know Anne might notice Wyce. She has never had friends before so being around other people besides the person who adopted her, Ivy, will be new to her so she'll be a little shy until she gets used to her new friends.
Plus this will be my first time playing druid so I am looking forward to turning into a bear and more.

When do we get to start playing? Just curious.

I have no clue why Lucinda is shown inside the post instead of the main character (replacing Game Master), I did the exact same thing last, time (at least I think I did.)

Just found out, I need to post as player to get Lucinda as main character...

For information to everybody, I do not accept any roll outside of posts. For example if you want your hp to be made by roll, you will have to add the rolls in your character creation thread.

I know patience is a virtue. And I just don't have it. So please bear with me and tell me it's a nasty thing to bring this topic up, but here it comes:
I am trying to have fun in this game, but all I can think of is that players have been posting their PCs trying to figure out how to help town with their true problem - the elves. But DM keep ignoring those attempts to impact the story and keep throwing at use minor events that don't seem to have further impact on main story.
I keep telling myself that everything that has been happening, even major who don't keep their their words or the inevitable dwarf death will eventually help us to fill in pieces of puzzle in the bigger picture, but my optimism is dying every day.

Could a DM please give me some hope that we will soon feel like our PCs are driving the story?

Yeah I feel the same way. Cuz instead of having NPCs helping to explain to us what is going on, we keep getting obstacles in the way of the main story like the dwarves and the little kid.

Also we were supposed to be able to talk to the mayor at the tree and now we are going to her house. I've been trying to have fun too and I believe the true threat is the monsters that attacked the village too but lack of communication and information kind of sucks.

Hope we can start the story again soon and that what we do as our characters matter in this game. Will continue to stay patient though cuz I am trying my best as my character.

I am following the script given by the scenario, it is suppose to give a feel of the town. Once in the Mayor's house, I promise to keep faster pace and to ignore any other minor event given in the book.

Didn't know this was a module. Seriously thought this was homebrew dnd. Like I like both but enjoy homebrew dnd more.

Yeah if it wasn't for GreyWord posting the map himself I would have kept thinking this was homebrewed. After the map, I was oh this is an actual module.

Should this mean that the Halfings have simply been too lazy to maintain their houses for the last decade? It is probably my language barrier, but this description doesn't suggest damage done by riding party, does it?

AS you were told, they stole every single thing in iron, so there is no more hinges for doors and windows, any eleent that helped keep a home together is gone, roofs are not held by any nails. This is a a catastrophe.

So no it is obvious it is not neglect, and people have no idea how to repair the damages, they don't have any nails or tools anymore.

Thanks. I just didn't imagine they not only steal the available iron, but also disassemble the one that is incorporated into the buildings. Most probably they used magic for that. Anyhow it is clear now.

Could I do a follow-up question. My as a player feeling is that even if we get tools and nails back - it will not be just a matter of fixing the houses, they will basically need to rebuild them. Should I take that attitude into the game or assume they will easy manage to restore their housing in a few days despite winter.

You're right, it will be a long job, for now they are quite frantic to find a way to keep things together not knowing how to fix things without any iron anywhere, let alone survive.

We are now waiting for DM to post Snowman 1 turn, then I will have to post mine, then again back to DM before Anne could do her turn.

Yep. Cuz I thought it was weird he had me do that saving throw and never told me the result of it. Lol.

So I guess we'll find out later. Cuz he asked me to do that when I was offline. Lol.

I eoul like to ask DM not to edit player posts. It is inconvenient to need to re-read the older posts. i.e. I'm asking DM narrate player action in a separate post instead of editing player post to add narrative and ask questions

Yeah new post. if needed I think you can just quote the original post. I don't reread older post either, since it shouldn't change and when a player makes edits it says they made edits, DM changes don't have that indicator at all.

When snowmans are doing stealth checks during the battle you could use 5e PHB rule that Perception is rolled only by
You can use out PC Passive Perception instead as suggested by PHB.

This will both reduce number of posts and increase game peace.

I do not like the way ooc are handled on the site, I am fine with ooc I generally use them quite a lot.

Yes I know, but if I use Passive Perception, you won't get a chance to spot them, and to me the context is not very passive it is a fight and everyone is actively avoiding and looking for trouble.

Btw, extra attack is a level 5 feature and we are only level 3. I don't even think Anne would get that as a druid/barbarian whose taking druid all the way

No, multi attack is given in combat chapter saying you may attack with 2 light weapons in that case you do not add you strength bonus to damage if it is a positive modification. p.195 -- Melee Attack -- Two-weapon fighting.

Two-weapon fighting feature is only needed to be able use your modifier on the 2nd attack damage. You can still attack with 2 weapons, PHB p 195.

I'm a druid/barbarian. I don't have that. Just my wild shape and stuff as I don't attack with two weapons is what I'm trying to say

Everybody have Two weapons fighting, it is not a class nor a level feature.

It is an advantage you get when you use 2 light weapons to fight, even magicians can use it. So it is entirely your choice.

Could a DM please clarify following statement
Is this a custom feature of the Monster (that we are not supposed to know) or your homebrew rule of you as DM (that we are supposed to know)?

The only PHD rule I'm aware of - would only make Elias attack with disadvantage, not grant any other enemy advantage against him

Ok this game is beginning to feel like the anime Yu-Gi-Oh where they change the rules and pull shit out of their asses. I've been trying to stay but it seems like it's getting worse and worse as we progress.

The mechanics are a mess but the game is progressing. I'm in. Chaos reigns!

As long as DM understand that seasoned 5e players are having problems to understand reason DM deny them to do what they are used to do in 5e, explain that and propose options allowed in HIS game I'm also in.

Well I guess, this will be my only D&D 5 mastery, for I do not like a number of rules. And I don't see how you can have a clear line of sight while there is two people fighting in the middle of the way.

And to me cover is something else, it does not come to play in this instance, cover is someone staying behind something to get protection. In here if a line of sight is admitted, there is no bonus for covering.

So what would I do in the case of Sacred Flame? It ignores cover, so a "clear" path isn't needed to cast the spell. Or bow users with sharpshooter feat as they ignore half and three quarters cover?

No problem with this one it doesn't ask for a line a sight, only to be able to see the target.

I would say A, skeletal because it is very thin, and Cheshire Grim refers to Alice in Wonderland, the Cheshire cat is the cat that disappears part by part and has always a big smile.

I have some unfortunate news to share with you. Due to my new work commitments, I won't be able to continue playing in our DnD game. It has been a great pleasure adventuring with you all.

To Role-Play my departure, I would like to have my character 'Albo' leave the group. He has become too scared after our last encounter in the woods and has decided to go back to the village.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and I hope you will continue to have a great time playing the game without me.

as for a feedback. While i find the scenario weird and somewhat lacking quality i am having fun in this game.
I just hope DM also have. @YullyBear you did a really good job roleplaying scarecrow and lately catching player's mistake on casting two concentration spells - something most if not all of the players missed.

I do believe we still can have a lot of fun in this game.

I agree with you, the scenario is not very good, it is from Green Frog edition, and I am more and more suspicious on their material.
