Threshold
The last town before the northern mountainous boarderlands, Threshold rests at the head of the Windrush River that runs south into the interior of the kingdom of Karameikos.
The town is frequented by frontiersmen, loggers and fishermen. The town of ~5,000 is not cramped but sprawling and walled against the enemies in the surrounding mountains.
Threshold is ruled by a Baroness Aleena Halaran from the nearby keep.
Verge
Verge is a village along the kings road from the capital to the south to the Threshold and the boarderlands. Situated on the Fogmfire river (a tributary to the larger Windrush River), Verge is the last stopping point for many travellers before they embark into the northern mountains.
The economy of Verge is supported by livestock farming and trade along the road. Verge is ruled by a local mayor who pays taxes to Baroness Halaran.
