Emryn Dawe
Emryn nods as Agna mentions the warehouse. "Just take the Dalath's Span" she starts to explain, pointing to the other side of the bridge. "You see that tavern there? That's the One-Eyed Jax. If you turn left and go through the opposite road," she traces the path you have to take with her finger, " it's just after the Seven Sails, before you get to the harbor". You hear the thug that tried to sneak up behind Agna moaning as he rolls around the floor. "I'll have to check my cargo is ready and get it delivered. So I would be going that way" she points, deeper into the southern bank of the city. "Good luck on for travels" she says, before leaving you to it.
OOC:
I'm going to assume you are going to the Luskar Deliverers now, but you can still talk with her or search the area or do other things. This next post can be re-posted later if needed

OOC:
Izuhn is ready to head to the Luskar Deliverers. He's uncomfortable in this city so the sooner they leave the better to him.

Luskan
You continue your way to the north bank of Luskan, crossing the bridge as suggested by Emryn. As you leave the thug to come to his senses, you notice that the armed men that were standing by, quickly replace you and grab a human, taking him with them.

The One-Eyed Jax is indeed an easy landmark easy to find on the other side of the river. As indicated, you turn away from it, in the direction of the harbor, from where a thick black smoke is rising from the sea. It doesn't take too long for you to notice the crowds gathered around the streets near a strange complex. It has no windows, doors or roof, looking more like an open court filled with white stone pillars, arches and soaring white spires. You hear the cheers and laughs as people race around in light blue garments filled with something heavy rattling underneath. "kiss! kiss! kiss!" The crowd starts to chant in unison as you notice one of the participants climbing a white pillar nearby. Suddenly, the person slips at they try to push themselves the top of the pillar and fall flat on the ground. "oooooo" goes the crowd, imagining the pain of the fall as another person runs past the fallen participant.

The crowd stretches all the way past the Seven Sails inn, and the begging of the next bridge, where another white pillar is found, so finding your way to Luskar Deliverers' warehouse is not complicated. There, the building is easily identifiable by the amount of goods and crates being moved out towards the harbor.

As the group passes by the large crowd surrounding the white pillars, Izuhn looks around trying to figure out exactly what type of ritual is taking place. He is quite familiar with rituals but has not necessarily seen anything like this.

OOC:
Just a quick clarification that may be useful for later, Search would be a Perception/Investigation sort of check, so you are looking for more clue about what is happening. But this doesn't cover the knowledge of what it is or to whom, like history or religion might)

Agna taps her staff on the ground as she walks the Luskan streets. She sticks to the side of the street, avoiding the crush of spectators crowding around the court. For the sport itself she spares little more attention than a glance. When the daily labor of the warehouse workers come into view, she heads toward the front door to meet with the one in charge.

Watching the commotion as we walk, I'll ask Izuhn, what sort of thing is going on over there? taking notice of the one that ran past the fallen.

"It seems like some sort of winter ritual and one with religious context at that. Your guess is as good as mine as to what exactly they're doing though. Seems like they're getting a little too whipped up to me, but who am I to judge?"

Agna approaches the man. Without preamble, she speaks. "I am Agna, the guide. Beorne told me to meet someone here. When do we leave?"

Parcelmaster
"We’ve been contacted by a number of people throughout Luskan, all of whom have last minute deliveries bound for the north." The half-orc explains as he searches for something on his desk. "So we still have some things to take care of, some parcels to collect." He adds as he grabs a sheet of paper with a list of names. "I have assembled a list of people with packages that we still need to get. If you're in a hurry, and would like to help, we need someone to take them. The payment is split in two. We collected the advance now, which is yours to keep, and then again when the deliveries are completed." Once he makes his proposal, he silently waits for Agna to consider.

The urge to growl comes from a place deep within Agna. She squashes the feeling, but cannot keep from shaking her head. City folk! Less than an hour inside Luskan and already she was reminded why she chose to live in the wilds. The orc woman skims through a half-dozen lines before tossing the entire sheaf back onto the desk in disgust.

"What is the nonsense with all this paper?" she demands. "It is a simple thing I offer, to shepherd your caravan across the Spine. No more, no less. You need a guide, I need supplies. What else needs to be said?"
OOC:
Agna doesn't want to sign. Can I go for an Intimidation roll?

OOC:
You can. Intimidation is always risky. He being a half-orc I'd say your racial trait doesn't apply here. Maybe someone else more used to these city dealing wants to sign :D

Looks like Agna managed to grow more scary while scaring him!
Jan 17, 2023 2:55 am
Walking and talking with Fizel about the strangely violent winter ritual taking place, Izuhn stops just short of Agna and her intimidating tone.
Jan 17, 2023 3:00 am
Very true. She appears ready to make entrails into his extrails... (chuckling) So are we both looking for work on this trip or are you already hired?

Parcelmaster
The parcelmaster steps back, surprised by Agna's sudden burst. "Well, you know, there's the guild's insurance to..." he takes another look at Agna. Noticing his explanation falls on deaf ears, he tries a slightly different approach "Your services for supplies it is then. As long as no coin changes hands, I'm sure the commendator won't mind if we have a passenger such as yourself." He tentatively shows her his hand, hoping that they can seal the deal.
OOC:
success on intimidation. He will overlook contract and let you join the group as you look like someone who can keep trouble away.
As he does so, he notices two dwarves walking into the warehouse. "Looks like a busy day today. Hey there! You need some help?"
OOC:
RAAMtentacles, remember you can fit your reply to Fizel as you walk into the scene if you wish to :D
Jan 17, 2023 11:39 am
"Glad you came 'round to reason." Agna folds the half-orc's palm inside her own and jerks up, down, in the gesture humans were so fond of. At the man's next remark, she too turns to see that the two dwarves have rejoined her at the warehouse.
Jan 17, 2023 12:28 pm
RAAMtentacles sent a note to Eyes
"Yes sir, we're here to sign on with a northbound caravan, or at least I am. My companion can speak for himself."
Jan 17, 2023 1:52 pm
Planned on joining in on this caravan trip myself. I can do most things, but I don't work for free. Food, a place to sleep off the ground, and some coin is what I'm looking for. How much coin depends on how dangerous the work.
