Nashkel
"Greetings again, Shar-Teel. I hope your travels have been well and Dieter isn’t being too much trouble! A high caliber adventurer like yourself must be here investigating the Iron Crisis as well, no?

"Many thanks friend" he says offering a hand to the tattooed man, "we greatly appreciated the help, but do apologize about the cake" he eyes the mess on the floor and gives an apologetic look to Stella.
"I hope we did not spoil the birthday?" Sheemish leaves the question open ended, hoping to find out more from the strange man.
"Thank you for protecting me," she tells the tatooed man. She takes out bandages and offers to cover the wound.
When Shar-Teel takes out the bounty, Stella scowls, strides up to her, and gestures for her to flip the page around towards her. "May I see it? It may help us know how to avoid others in the future," she explains. If she's able to see it, she'll compare it with what she remembers of the first one. Same price or higher one? Just the Icewind Dale folks, or have any been added to the list?
Per Aiwe's Stella then tends to the scoundrel's burns.
The sharp call to Aiwe comes as she's dropping bodies outside. A small group of Amnish soldiers comes down the street, Major Bardolan at their head. "Halt and drop your weapons!"
Aiwe/Shelur - bard and warrior (mixed elf/orc blood, often performs in inns)
Stella - spellcaster (druid? young, white hair)
Sheemish - artificer (thunder gauntlets)
Dieter - warrior (dresses in strange, frilly attire)
Runeson - paladin (not much is known, never far from his horse)
Feathered little girl - spellcaster (sorceress? some kind of fey, hard to miss)
Imoen - pink-haired girl
Last seen in the area of Beregost, these persons are to be killed in quick order.
Those returning with proof of the deed shall receive no less than 350 coins of gold for each of these adventurers killed.
As always, any that reveal these plans to the forces of law shall join the targets in their fate.
When Runeson approaches, she gives him a stare. "Ah yes, the paladin." She leans back against the bar. "The Iron Crisis has been bad for business. But no, I'm not here for that. I'm not doing anything about that unless someone offers to pay me for it."
She gives a nod back in the direction the guards took Aldous. "i've got my hands full with him. Spoiled noble's brat, wouldn't know privilege if it bit him in the face."
"These men attacked my friends and I inside the inn. There's a number of witnesses inside you can speak to. I'm cleaning up the mess, and preparing to talk to this one," she points at the bound dwarf while keeping her hands high in the air, "about why they attacked us." Her tone is light and pleasant.
"At least 'sorceress' is fairly accurate, but 'little girl'? We're the oldest one here!" she complains.
He gives a little whistle, and a small mammal rustles out of the salad plate on the table, its enormous cheeks puffed out. It gives a little squeak and scurry-waddles over to the big man, deftly climbing into his open hand. It looks much like a mouse, but bigger and with only a tiny little nub of a tail.
The tattooed man leans down from his seat to scoop a fingerfull of frosting off the floor and offers it to the strange creature. It sniffs eagerly at the offered treat, then snatches some of the nuts off the cake and stuffs them into its cheeks - no doubt where it has more food safely stored away.
"Yes!" The big man cries. "Boo's birthday is a good one! Beautiful song, tasty cake, and a fight against evil. What more could a pair of heroes ask for?"
As Stella tends to the man's wound, she notices the old scar of a nasty head wound opposite his largest tattoo. Something like that may have done lasting damage to the man, and not just the physical kind.
She finally shrugs and takes a sip. "As for the murdered family, I don't know much. It happened the day before we got here, and the townsfolk were in shock. Apparently the murderer was someone respected in the community before he went mad."
"I'm not sure what evil organization threatens its members not to tell law enforcement and then gives evidence for their lackeys to carry around, but it does make for a good story." She returns to searching pockets, looking for anything else interesting.
"Those of us from Icewind Dale have parents who made some very nasty people very angry. Sheemish actually was directly involved, and my tribe and I are still in active war with the Orcish Pantheon. That's the only reason I can think of this would be happening, but... it still doesn't really track."
Officer Bardolan sighs. "When I saw the bodies, I was worried there'd been a repeat of last week's murders. I'm relieved to see that's not the case, though I offer my sincerest apology to you for having let these assassins into town. I'll be sure to warn my soldiers to be on the alert for any other bounty hunters that come this way."
"Can you tell me more about that murder? I know I'm a newcomer here, but... well, the same story happened to a man that lived in one of the Towns near where I grew up, but it turned out it was goblins, and the poor man was carried off."
It didn't happen in the Ten Towns, as Aiwë implied. The man had escaped the goblins, and the law that didn't believe him, and fled to the North. But that wasn't the important part of this story.
When he meets Aiwë's gaze, she sees some redness there. "Commander Brage was the officer in charge of Nashkel's garrison. He was also the mayor's brother. He was the best of us. Until last week, when without warning he slaughtered his wife and children, as well as three other townsfolk who witnessed it."
His gauntlets clink as he reflexively grips his sword hilt. "We know it was him, because there was one survivor of his rampage: his cousin Laryssa. She saw the madness in his eyes. She's still recovering in the Temple of Helm."
Except there shouldn't be the 'other five' on the bounty notice.
There should be the other six.
For all the pink-haired girl talked, she never seemed to say much. And yet she still travelled with the group, and always showed up late to the party whenever there was a fight--if she was to be found at all. She'd been with the group when Calliope arrived, and yet she wasn't on this apparently updated bounty list, while Calliope was?
"Stella," Calliope begins slowly, pointing over at Imoen near the kitchen, "when did you meet Pink over there? We haven't really heard how she ended up in this mess with you all."
(Retcon edit: Imoen is missing from the first bounty that Stella pulls out to compare to, but is on this one; still worth asking about, as she's one of the only ones who was there when Calliope first joined, Calliope doesn't know her origin anyhow, and her on and off appearance is still a point against her.)

"These will need to be cared for. Can you help me with that? My friends and I want to speak to the live one, hopefully learn something about who is after us. When we are finished, shall we turn him over to your care?"
