Character Creation

Nice art... I'm afraid already :) I always have trouble playing the more beast like races. Never know how they're life experience would be different. Maybe I lack the imagination required ;)

I'm almost done with my character. I just need to select a few spells and my equipment.

This is the concept i posted in the recruitment thread:

During the war, she was an agent of one of the warring nations. She did infiltration and espionage, specialising in stealing magical secrets form enemies of her homeland. After the war, she lost her purpose for a while, but she was recently re-recruited by the intelligence service of her homeland. Or so she thinks: The agency has been infiltrated by a mysterious being that she is now sworn to. She thinks she gets her directions from her handler/spy master, but in reality this entity is her warlock patron (who may not have the best interests of her homeland at heart).

Crunch: Human charlatan, bard 1/ warlock 4 (archfey), pact of the tome, misty visions.

I must admit that I don't know much about the Eberron setting. Could someone help me select a home nation that would work with this concept?

Based on your character I’d strongly suggest agent of House Phiarlan rather than charlatan as your background.

Awesome. I will do that. I will rebuild the character as a shadow marked elf house agent.

A few questions on equipment:
- I don't really need weapons. Can I do a wand that grants +1 to hit with a specific cantrip instead (a toned down Wand of the Warmage)? For 500 gp?
- Can I buy some 1st level utility spell scrolls (e.g. detect magic)? For 50 gp?

Thanks. I was looking for something to spend the gold on, but now I just settled on some potions, scrolls, and common Eberron items.

For the uncommon items, I would like to go with something more interesting than the wand of the war mage: Instrument of the Bards and a hat of disguise.
