I’m not fussy about backgrounds. I haven’t seen anything too broken yet.

I love the idea of Salvation because the people are transient, their past life affects their decisions, but ultimately they came to this town to make money.

Whether that means they’re starting over, or trying to understand the Day of Mourning, fleeing something, or you’re an adrenaline junky looking for the thrill of the Grey. I leave it up to you. I only ask that you have a purpose for being here in town.

For building out your characters gear, you may choose 2 uncommon, weapons or wondrous items, or one of each for free and you have 1000 gp to buy what you wish.

Thanks for that! Do we check with you on magic item costs for additional magic items (to purchase with our 1000gp)?

I realized, I should clarify that is two items total, not each. My grammar was off.

Also, I offered these if you wish to spend your money upgrading any of your melee weapons:
Light generation - 500 gp
Damage type of your choice - 1000 gp

As long as you can afford it, you may buy whatever you wish. I throw in the other special items to keep it even for new players.

Good day all! Thank you for having me along on your journeys. Question does anyone have a bag of holding?
Also I imagine not since it was not said but we can not take a rare instead of two uncommons correct? Not that I would if we could but just checking out the options.
Also is there anything the current party needs by chance? Thinking about playing a sorcerer but thought I'd ask if anything is needed (a tank, healer, someone that is a talker, or someone that is outgoing to push the story along, someone that is shy since there is already too many chiefs etc)
So besides the common items in the phb we can spend on changing damage type and what is light generation? Just checking if that is all we can do with the 1000 go we get

You may spend the 1000gp on whatever you want. The melee upgrades were just in case you wanted something a little unique, like a flame sword, etc.

Light generation turns whatever weapon into the equivalent of a Moon-Touched Sword. Same rules.

37 has a bag of holding.

Lemme see... SheK is a half-orc ass kicker but is more or less our only front line fighter.

Vice is a rogue who uses chakram (reflavored daggers) to juggle and attack from range.

37 is a warforged artificer. Bit of a tank (high AC), bit of a healer (cure wounds spell), ranged fighter (lightning launcher).

There's room for almost anything.

Thanks for the invite. I'm planning on making a Battle Smith Artificer, so that would be adding to the melee group, although I suppose I could go crossbow expert route. Hmmm.... I'll have to give it some thought. I tend to like melee armored types more.

Just submitted my character for approval. I am playing a Kobold sorcerer called Meepo. I used to have a tribe of Kobolds until they kicked me out for failing my job. I was taken in by a group of adventurers that had just helped out my tribe and went on many adventures with them. I learned so much while traveling with them including that I have a great power from deep within that I never knew about. I learned other things like how to do alchemy and how to fight although I was never as good as they were at it but they were always happy to have me. We did a lot of missions in the underdark and learned how to speak with some of the natives while I was there.
One of the last missions we went on was a huge disaster. We fought a beholder and half of the party died while the other half barely made it out alive. The ones that did make it out decided to retire. I did retire for about a year but the people I knew started to have their own lives and I saw less and less of them. I got loney and kept wondering about if there was any more latent power deep within that has gone untapped. I set forward to find a new adventuring group to call my friends. And see if what I have discovered about myself could be of any use to my new friends. And who knows maybe more adventuring would bring out other things in my i never knew i was capable of.

I haven't yet. I'm unclear if we get two items plus 1000 GP, or two items or 1000 GP.

I seem to have some extra funds after purchasing the basics. In addition to the two uncommon items, can we purchase another magic item? I've included 2 healing potions at the standard 50gp each. Always trouble determining prices, for example if I wanted to buy an additional +1 Shield or +1 Weapon?

Related - I see that Continual Flame is an Artificer spell 2nd level. It takes 50gp of ruby dust to cast. Could I then spend the 50gp and say my character crafted a hooded lantern with a continual flame in it before the adventure and add that to his equipment?

To me, a simple +1 weapon is 500gp. Depending on the magical effect you’re looking for, the additional cost would vary greatly. Simple magic like it glows, is around 500gp. Magical damage is 1000gp. Anything else would have to be a discussion.

Good morning. Just chiming in to say I am almost done with my character sheet. I am going to be playing an Oath of Conquest Minotaur Paladin by the name of Torhak, the Ironbanded. He is a Blood of Vol adherent who, through their faith in their own Divine Spark, looks to increase their personal power and wealth. Here is some art for the character as well.
