What is a duende? (Small faerie?). What did the duende trait do for you?

You can change some of the starter gear bases on your background and planned adventure path.

Do you want to start in a city or on the adventure trail? If so how did Baruman transition from an urchin to an adventure?

It's like a small goblin / leprechaun that gets an automatic dodge when attacked without using an action.
I'd presumed that he'd start in the city, desperately looking for any way to improve his life. If that's awkward, he could have mugged an adventurer who had come into the city, and run out of town with his possessions.

Is there a list of starter gear to choose from? Or should I just pick appropriate items?

Let's start in the city. I've never done that so it will be new and interesting. I will create an opportunity to leave the city and y travel to where the others in the game are based but it is up to you.
On the character sheet there is a Gear spoiler with the basic starter kit prepopulated. You can swap stuff out within reason to match your origin.
Can you add a basic character description on your sheet please.
Which weapon do you have? dagger, club, ax,...

Are to native English speaking? Have you played TinyD6 before?

I am an American engineer with a well developed imagination and horrible spelling. I love fiction and fantasy as long as it is consistent within itself so I can make sense of it.
I typically create narrative in my head but may miss details when transcribing them into the story. Feel free to ask questions.

I'm Scottish, so theoretically I'm a native English speaker, but there are those who would argue against that :-) This is my first time with Tiny D6, but looking over it, I like the simplicity of it.

I'd added a basic character description, let me know if you can't see it, I may have done it wrong. I've amended the gear list as well, stripped down to the sort of things an urchin may have. He'll have a dagger ( probably stolen from somebody)

I could not find the desciption so added a table that you can fill in and/or put a short description afterwards. This is not realy need for the character but does help me imagine your character in the story.
Feel free to add a bit more in the way of gear. Ex : you may have picked up a spare knife and the ocasional "tool of the trade" to help with you urban survival

I am working on making the game story more interactive so feel free to add in bits of what you imagine and I will only correct bit that go against fixed setting details (stated in the setting information or just in my head)

Basic opening scene background
Baruman only remembers the city of Gamulur. The city was originally a small dwarvish town struggling after the Shattering. Some time ago trade was establish with the nearby human and elvish regions brining into Gamulur new people and money causing to city to grow though much of the development is outside the dwarvish city councils control.

Baruman grew up near the river docks and is know to most of the human dockhands and task masters that will occasionally give him an odd job, though pay is not always guaranteed. You have noticed an increase in recent weeks of strangers coming and going through the town. Not the usual marchants, though there have been more of those as well, but adventurers with gleaming armor, lethal looking weapons, and a hint of mystery. Drawn to these you have heard they head to a recently discovered ruined city filled with monsters and wealth from the Dawn Age before the Great Dawn War and shattering.

Description: Small as he is, even in a Dwarf own, Baruman is often mistaken for even younger than he is, but his eyes betray the hardship of his youth, that his smirking grin tries to hide.

Details

Now in his late teenage years, Baruman cannot remember much of his childhood. All he knows is that he has always been alone, living on the streets and surviving by getting what little work he could, or stealing what he can. On the rare occasions when anybody has taken him in and shown any kindness have always ended in betrayal.

The most hurtful of these had been a human named Elgor. He had been starving, at the edge of death, when Elgor had taken him under his wing. Living on the streets is not easy, but Elgor taught him how to beg and steal, how to hide and run, and had given him his most treasured possession, an hourglass that awoke him regularly so he could check that he was not in danger. He thought that they would be a team forever, but one morning when he awoke, Elgor was gone, with no explanation. Baruman never trusted a soul after that.

His years of surviving have made him perceptive to the dangers around him, and skilled in taking what he can.

He yearns to know his past, understand where he came from, and know his kin, but more than anything wants a way out of the city to a new and better life.

That Description of the scene background sounds absolutely great

I have another newcomer Eels_. After the opening scene where I really you though dinner basics of the game, tools, etc you can join up an work as a team. Otherwise I will pull you towards the primary game location, where the other characters are, after your 1st mission and you can decide what to do then. Let me know if you want to team up sooner or a bit later.

If it suits Eels, sounds like it would be fun to meet up and perhaps eventually head towards the others.

I'll start the town scene tonight and drop Baruman in it. Well see how it goes.
