S1E1: Mad World, July 1st, 2003

Jan 26, 2023 10:37 pm

It was a lazy Tuesday on the island of Motivation, Rhode Island. Few people milled about the transportation baggage claim, a combined area for Flying Boats and Passenger Ferries to unload their luggage onto. One of the three carousels came to life as the passengers of Ferry #4, and a recently landed flying boat, known as the What's Up Dock?, walked into the area, waiting for their luggage to arrive.

Today was not like any other day for the baggage claim. Each vessel had been told to use the same carousel, and when the mistake was discovered, a number of corrections and over corrections had all three carousels moving, and no one knew exactly which one had their luggage anymore. As the mass of people moved about, growing frustrated, your character didn't worry.

Maybe they were here to pick up a relative or old friend. Maybe they had just arrived, and were one of the disembarking passengers. Maybe they had been hired, or told by their employer, to pick up some luggage that would be here. Maybe it was another reason entirely. In any case, they were waiting on a distinctive piece of luggage that they knew would be instantly recognizable once it arrived: an ugly, yellow and pink, heavy with it's contents, plaid traveling case, and marked with a distinctly ugly orange and green ribbon, so that there would be no way anyone could ever get it confused for their own. Because there was absolutely, positively, no possible way for there to be another large, ugly, heavy, yellow and pink plaid traveling case, with a separate, distinctive, ugly, orange and green ribbon tied onto its handle. And the very notion that there could be a third, large, heavy, incredibly ugly, puke yellow and hot pink traveling case with a horrid, awful, ugly orange and green ribbon, acquired completely separately from another store, tied onto the handle using the precisely same knot, could possibly be in the same vicinity, the same universe, as the first two, was so absurd that no one, and I do mean no one, would have ever considered such a possibility. Why, one would have to be extremely imaginative, and possibly stupid, to even consider a scenario in which more than three such unique bags, each with a distinctive ribbon tied on in exactly the same manner, could ever all arrive at the same baggage claim.

Right?

"This is unlike them, must be an off day," Erik comments to no one in particular, noting the unusual flub at the baggage claim. The staff were usually on top of everything, and the hub ran like a well-oiled machine. Still, life had a way of happening to everyone.

He looked around for the absolutely hideous piece of luggage he had been given as a farewell (gag) gift by a Staff Sergeant who was changing duty stations. SSgt. Anderson had picked the gift up on vacation in Hawai'i. But, the fact the Staff Sergeant thought well enough of the relatively new LT to get him a gift warmed Erik's heart -- even if he'd never admit it to anyone at the unit.

"Alright, where the hell is this thing?"

Lucius is leaning onto a wall, lazily squinting at the passengers passing by and tapping his tail against his wooden staff while he tries to spot the bag he agreed to fetch for one of his co-workers. The bag which, judging by its description, should be pretty easy to notice when it arrives; so the young hòuzi is not too concerned with paying attention and instead indulges in people-watching and listening to the music coming from a nearby bar.

A few of the people give him curious looks, probably intrigued by his strange choice of bringing a wooden pole to a baggage claim (or maybe it is his gorgeous blonde mane, no less gorgeous in its illusion form), and Lucius responds by beaming back at them - he might as well be a local now, and being friendly toward tourists and newcomers is practically his duty in ways of hospitality. It also has an added benefit of reconnaissance: whenever he looks directly at people, it's easier to spot when they can see him for who he is. And it is always useful to keep these ones in mind, for curiosity and safety alike.

The bag finally arrives, or at least Lucius sees a flash of something similar enough in its gaudy palette, and the monkey peels himself off the wall, nimbly making his way between crowds of people, squeezing through while minding his tail and weapons.

"Excuse me, passing through, thank you..." He tiptoes around a luggage cart with an especially massive stack of bags and suitcases on it, and bumps into a man in a uniform. "Whoops, sorry, officer! Busy day here at the harbour, isn't it?"

Phillip finds the whole situation embarrassing. Even though he works on the yachts of the marina and has nothing to do with the ferry companies or the baggage handlers, he is still technically a harbour employee and there's a sort of a guilt-by-assosiation feeling creeping on him as he watches the chaos. He has half a mind to go and help with the unloading, but suspects the presence of an untrained stranger, no matter how well-intentioned, would not be appreciated.

And it's not like he's not affected by the error himself. He is waiting for something - a friend of a friend with whom he had been crashing with back in Rhode Island is sending him the last of his personal effects. The bag Phillip is waiting for had been helpfully described as "you'll know it when you see it", but he thinks he has a rough idea what to expect. The guy he's been staying with had a very particular, eye-watering style.

Alfie is hanging back from the crowd, patiently waiting for a glimpse of pink and yellow amid the tumultuous sea of people and bags. He’s a scrawny kid with a mop of dishwater blond hair, wearing a t-shirt and jeans that are both far too big for him. He’d been forced to borrow some clothes from his new foster family, since his luggage was misplaced when he first arrived in Motivation a few weeks ago. Fortunately, Matthew and Laura had kept some of their kids’ old clothes, though none of them fit him at all. Alfie had been overjoyed when the ferry company called this morning and said they’d located his lost bag.

He hears someone remark that this state of chaos is apparently out of the ordinary and frowns. "Really? It was like this last time I was here…"
Feb 18, 2023 7:42 am
The luggage carousels were filling with bags, suitcases, duffels, and boxes, all having risen up and then tumbling down onto the conveyor and lazily circling the carousel, but no bag resembling the one you are looking for has yet emerged. Passengers crowd around, gathering their luggage as it rolls by.

The crowd is particularly thick today; many people have come to celebrate the 4th of July here on the Island, and Porttown is where most tourists arrive on the island. People stand about, holding signs indicating that they are waiting to pick someone up. Few people are departing the island, so most of the crowd is trying to leave, but that doesn't mean spats aren't occurring as people mill about; the baggage claim area normally doesn't have to accommodate so many people, and while no one's in danger, you will have difficulty moving about freely.
Lucius says:
"Whoops, sorry, officer! Busy day here at the harbour, isn't it?"
The redheaded officer looks down his beak-like nose and scowls at Lucius as his beady eyes take him in, but his head snaps as he hears a commotion, and his hand immediately goes to rest on his tonfa. Meanwhile a yelp and the sound of surprise emmits from the crowd. What is happening?

Lucius grins back at the officer, completely nonplussed by the scowl he is receiving - in fact, the scowl only prompts him to press harder with the whole improvised chit-chatting, especially now that a random teen nearby also offered a comment in response; which is, kudos to them! He is about to continue talking, maybe remark about the weather or something of an equally useless variety, but then a sudden commotion from the crowd gives him pause.

"Hey, what's happening over there?" The hòuzi tries to look over the heads by using his staff as a support, his tail curling around it. "Gotta go investigate! Can't have chaos unfolding unobserved, right, officer?" He winks at the red-headed man and starts maneuvering through the crowd towards the source of the sound.

She is carrying a bag identical to the one you are supposed to be picking up. "Help!" she shouts, looking over her shoulder frantically. "Help! My boyfriend is going to hit me again!" OOC:

Erik's turn was spent making his way through the crowd, albeit without greatly upsetting anyone. At the end of your turn, you must roll your Initiative again for next turn. Which reminds me, I need to roll Initiative for all the NPCs who took an action. Everyone who was Surprised keeps their Initiative roll for next turn.

A note for anyone who'd like to roll higher. You can spend an Action Point before a roll to give yourself Advantage, or spend it after you roll to give yourself a bonus to the roll; at 1st level, this bonus is +1D6. I'll get more concrete rules up here soon.

Anyways, as everyone is still surprised, or can't go because they roll 0 or lower, it is already the new round, meaning @FlyingSucculent , it is Lucius's turn!

Lucius flicks his tail towards the carousel out of instinct, but his mind is very far from the package - how can it not be, when something curious is happening right in the opposite direction? The bag can wait until the commotion is over, it certainly isn't going to just disappear while he's not looking, right? Right.

So instead of moving towards the baggage, the hóuzi just continues his maneuvering through the crowd while keeping an eye out for any trouble. Once appropriately in range, he waves at the burly man and calls out: "Hey there, big guy, what seems to be the problem?" He glances around, noting the presence of another bystander - this one in uniform, although he doesn't look like security, - and moves to stand next to both of them. "Chill, pal, you're kinda scaring the folks over here. Probably won't help your case if you get arrested, you know?"

OOC:
@MaJunior,@FlyingSucculent, make me Insight checks. Lucius makes his with Advantage this time. Erik also receives another Perception check. The Police Officer is heading out the exit opposite from you both, and you will have to use your Action to Dash and catch up with him, or succeed at an Intermediate (20) Athletics or Acrobatics check to barrel through the crowd, although this is very likely to cause a commotion. However, another gentlemen https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/images/6771049/image_2023-02-19_170805_square_thumb.png is carrying a bag you are looking for and seems to be passing right by you; in fact, he's now shoving people out of the way trying to reach the exit as he holds it to his chest.

@MaJunior , while Erik's Insight check is so low that your character can't figure out why it is happening, your Instinct check from earlier is high enough that you can recognize the signs of someone who is going to bolt (on his next turn). If you would like to stop him, you may have Erik use his Action to do so. Options include Intimidation, Grabbing him, Tripping him, etc.

@FlyingSucculent I didn't know your characters knew each other, yes, you can spot him. Also, your Presence roll from earlier is enough for what follows....

Alfie had been about to chase after the woman who disappeared into the crowd, assuming she had picked up his bag by mistake, but then three other identical bags appear throughout the baggage claim and he quickly realizes that the situation is more complicated than he thought. Given that the other bags are currently in the possession of a cop, a Russian man being intercepted by a soldier, and a woman who is now nowhere to be seen, Alfie decides to go check the unattended bag on the carousel, as that seems like the most sensible thing to do right now.

"Sorry! Excuse me…" Alfie weaves through the crowd, ducking past the kerfuffle between Erik, Peter, Lucius, and Mac, and makes his way over to Carousel 3.
Feb 22, 2023 12:25 am
OOC:
It will take Alfie his entire action to make his way to Carousel 3, making it Phillip's turn
Feb 22, 2023 11:07 am
The commotion seems to be caused by a lady in distress, which makes Phillip disinclined to involve himself. This is a public place and there are plenty of people around to help her, if she indeed needs help. Instead he focuses on finding his suitcase, so he approaches the closest carousel. He'd meant to wait for the crowd to subside a bit instead of fighting his way through a herd of impatient tourists, but he has already seen people picking up some spectacularly ugly bags and thinks that maybe finding his own won't be as easy as he'd expected.

I'm assuming I need to roll something, unless I'm spending the whole round trying to reach the carousel?

Peter has left the scene
The name on the bag reads Lucius. As he returns it to the Carousel, the mean looking redheaded Police Officer flings his bag onto the Carousel with disgust and yanks Lucius's bag from Alfie's hands, inspects the tag and cusses loudly as he drops it. "Damnit!" He realizes that he is making a scene, and walks off quickly to the restroom.

Another man, dressed in faux leathers and wearing sunglasses, https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/images/6774699/Nektar_square_thumb.jpg also approaches, looks at the bag's tag, and walks off with it. He is immediately stopped by a man dressed in a chauffeur's outfit. https://db4sgowjqfwig.cloudfront.net/images/6771037/Simontc_square_thumb.jpg"Let me see that bag" He says in a commanding voice. "Oh please, sod off," Says the man in Leathers. The Chauffeur, standing easily over 8 feet tall, seems to give a low growl. The other man, who also stood over 6 feet tall, seems to give a growl back, a growl which makes Alfie's stomach flip, like something from a wild beast.

The Chauffer is taken aback with shock, and the man in leathers walks off.

It occurs to Alfie that the Red headed man is probably not a police officer. He also spots a woman taking the bag that the fake officer put down, and in such a manner as to suggest that it isn't hers. She is now sneaking away. Lastly, he spots his favorite boxers on Carousel 1; someone has emptied the contents of his bag all over Carousel 1!

OOC:
Phillip is at Carousel 2. After this round, the crowd will have dispersed enough that you'll be able to move as follows (and the reverse of these)

Moving from one zone to another uses your Standard movement

Moving 2 Zones: Standard Movement and the Dash action

Moving 3 or 4 zones: Full-round Run Action, causes a commotion

Beyond that is beyond the bounds of round by round movements.

This is a conceptualized map, not a literal one. It is divided into Zones, not feet. That said, it is roughly laid out like this, maybe with more of a curve.

Here is the location of every bag that Phillip can see:

Bag on Carousel 3
Bag with its contents strewn everywhere, Carousel 1
Bag being carried by man in white faux leathers, Exit 2

Until the end of this round, to move from one zone to another, you need to use your standard movement and a Dash action, unless you can succeed at an Easy Athletics or Acrobatics check, both of which causes a commotion.

Feb 23, 2023 7:53 pm
OOC:
Don't think the situation warrants feats of acrobatics XD. Phillip is (wrongly) going to assume that the people with the bags have checked their labels.
A few bags seem to have found their owners. There is one open on the next carousel... but judging by the content, it is not Phillip's. He can't se very clearly, but his bag should contain mostly books, not clothes. He moves towards Carousel 3 to check the suitcase he sees there.

"Good luck, pal!" Lucius makes finger guns at Mac - and the security guards talking to him by extension, - and then turns at his heel to survey the surroundings. He takes stock of all the presumed locations of the bags he have noticed so far, marvels at an apparently impressive amounts of identical luggage arriving on the same day, and finally turns to watch the bickering pair in the waiting area for a moment.

"Hey, are you-" He starts talking to the man in the uniform, but then looks over and realizes that the latter is already moving through the crowd towards the closest carousel, leaving the houzi completely alone. Ah, so much for cooperation... Then again, at least the man knows not to waste time; hopefully he is also friendly enough to let Lucius know which bags he'll find! There also seem to be some sort of a baggage explosion happening at the same carousel, which is intriguing but probably will be handled without the local monster hunter (and he's pretty sure he'd make it worse). The lady complaining about the bags, on the other hand...

Lucius jumps into motion - metaphorically, since as much as he'd like to leap and climb, the security probably wouldn't appreciate it, - and quickly makes his way towards the well-dressed lady and the chauffeur. "Excuse me, miss, sir?" He waves at them in greeting. "Couldn't help but overhear that you are having some trouble with your baggage! A lot of people seem to, with these bags," the houzi points at the one Simon was just expecting, "especially. As it happens, I'm also looking for a bag like this! Perhaps we can help each other?" While waiting for the two to answer, Lucius reaches with his tail for the bag left by Simon, trying to pick it up and read the tag. And if his eyes are not deceiving him, there seems to be a familiar face a little further by the carousel...
OOC:
I believe you mentioned that the lady is in the waiting area, but Simon is also simultaneously looking at a bag on a carousel, so I'm not sure whether they are at Waiting or Carousel 2. I'll head for them either way, so I'll use Dash if they're at the carousel.

Simon is at Carousel 3. Eunice is in the waiting area. She is yelling to/at him from like 30 feet away. If you move and dash, you can be at Carousel 3, but you won't be able to talk with Eunice and check the bag, unless you are also yelling to her. Just so we're clear, it normally takes an Action to check the tag, which you used to Dash, however, using your tail in this manner makes sense as a Bonus Action (5E used the worst name to describe these actions, as they confer the wrong meaning, I might change them to Special Actions, but that's for another discussion. Anyways...)

Simon looked at Lucius, and his eyes widened for a moment. Lucius knew that look; Simon could clearly recognize Lucius's Masked nature. What that meant about Simon was not apparent however, and the look on his face was only momentary, so there was always the chance that it was something else that had startled him about Lucius.

The Chauffer shook his head at the Houzi's words, and gave a shuddering sound at the suggestion. "Your assistance is unneeded," Simon's voice was almost impossibly deep, his words heavy and drawn out, dripping with a sort of disdain...or was that sadness? In either case, he winced as Eunice screamed at him "STOP TALKING WITH THAT MONKEY AND FIND THE BAG YOU FOOL!" He rolled his eyes and began looking for another bag to inspect.
Feb 27, 2023 4:59 pm
Lucius's tail twitches at the look of recognition on Simon's face; while it is often entertaining to find another person able to see beyond the masks, the quickness with which the man hides the expression doesn't bode well for the goodness of his intensions. Admittedly, many friendly abnormal creatures are forced to hide for different reasons, so Lucius prefers to presume the best until proven otherwise - but it's still unnerving.

"Alright, good luck to you two with your bags then!" He pauses, then leans closer to the chauffer, pretending to look for the bags too while whispering to him: "Hey, if you are in some sort of unwilling magical servitude situation with the lady, I can try to deal with it. Just ask for me at the harbour or the local firing range if you ever need help." He straightens back up, then looks around. "Anyway, gotta find my baggage!"

Easier said than done, really. But there is a new bag on carousel he's next to, as well as the one currently being inspected by the uniform man and a shy-looking teen who passed by them earlier. Does Lucius want to crowd there? Eh, he can check those bags later. For now...

"Phillip! Hey, Phillip!" The monkey happily bounces over to the second carousel, waving at the friend he noticed there. "Long time no see! Also, you need to buy some better coffee, the last batch smelled like seaweed."
OOC:
Just moving over to bother Phillip. :D

"You!" cries Phillip and, forgetting the elusive bag for a moment, makes his way towards Lucius to greet him. "You are always welcome to buy your own coffee, you know! What are you doing here?"

Without knowing why, Phillip has a feeling that this chaos is somehow Lucius's fault. Something in the younger man's manner, his "vibe" if you will, gives the impression that he's always up to no good, like an off-brand god of mischief.

He wonders if he ought to tell someone about the fake cop or the probable theft he witnessed, but he isn’t sure who to tell except security and they seem… pretty busy being yelled at right now. He doesn't seem to be making any attempt to grab his weapon, but Erik is able to note the heightened state of alertness in the man's demeanor.

Meanwhile, Eunice continues her tirade with security. By now, they have radioed back up, and a few more security officers have arrived. "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!" Also, I forgot to hand out experience! Both Alfie and Lucius gain 20 XP, as their Disadvantages have come up. Remember, the first time a Hobby, Allegiance, Disadvantage, Bond, Quirk, Aspiration, Aversion, or Fear is involved in a scene, you gain (10 x Level) in XP, unless any of them, as well as your Reputation, adversely effects the scene, in which case, you gain (20 x Level) in XP instead. For the most part, it will be up to you to remind me when you believe they come into play so you can be rewarded XP.

I'd also like to take this time to remind folks to vote in that little poll I put in the out-of-character discussion.

"Oi, no need to look so suspicious, I didn't do whatever you think I did, amigo!" Lucius raises his hands in joking surrender as Phillip joins him. "Unless you think that I ate your lettuce sandwich. Because I did that, yes, and it was very tasty and a bit stale, but I commend your choice of greens."

The houzi flicks his tail and gestures at the carousels with his hand. "A pal from work asked me to pick up some stuff, but guess what? There seems to be a good dozen of similar bags around, and I'm yet to find mine. And I'm not even the only one looking, so are doing the loud lady and her bodyguard," he points to the two, "the uniform man", wave of the hand towards Erik, "and the kid," nod at Alfie gathering his scattered stuff. Lucius looks over at Phillip, his tail curling around itself in surprise. "Wow, already? And I thought my kin was supposed to be lucky." He chuckles to himself and glances over at the carousels, trying to count how many of the weird bags he can see from his viewpoint. Not many, it appears, and both of them already on Phillip's trajectory. So unless someone grabbed his earlier in the chaos, then one of those two must be his goal - so without much hesitation, Lucius navigates the crowd to join his boat-dwelling friend (would Phillip object to being called a friend? Of course not!), calling back to him on the way: "Nope! Congrats on yours, though! It's like an improvised treasure hunt by the port, and you just got the prize!" He skips to Phillip's side and then heads for the closest bag alongside him. "Man, they should set up some kind of system against cases with similar-looking luggage."

After hastily stuffing the last of his scattered belongings back into his bag, Alfie sits down on top of his bag so that no one can snatch it off him and takes a moment to catch his breath.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The gigantic man known as Simon returned to Eunice.

"It's not here,"

The look on Eunice's face was hard to read, especially because it was face down in the palm's of her hands, and she was shaking. A quiet chuckle could be heard coming from her, but it was obvious that she wasn't happy with the situation when she turned her head up and began laughing. Her laughter became a cackle, one the sent shivers down everyone's spine; Simon made an audible shuddering sound. Her cackling became a cacophony, and as she looked up at the ceiling, with her hands almost clenched, she almost looked like a mad scientist, albeit one dressed to the nines.

Actually, to Lucius and Alfie, she did look like a Mad Scientist, as he hair sprung out of her tightly wrapped bun and revealed a mass of wiry gray white and black hair that sizzled with electricity. Her eyes were blood shot, and she looked like a woman possessed by a maleficent force.

Her chauffer Simon was now, almost impossibly, an even more imposing figure, his broad shoulders, muscular build, and large, powerful hands. His skin was now grey in color, his brow quite pronounced, his eyes deep-set and sunken in, all adding to an eerie and intimidating appearance.

Despite the fact that it was the middle of the summer, the sky outside suddenly became dim, and it began raining down. As Eunice's laughter reached it's full height, thunder and lighting cracked and crackled outside.
OOC:
While Alfie has likely unwittingly seen the supernatural before, this would be the first time he's actually witnessed it and couldn't deny what he sees. Lucius, this is still rather terrifying for you as well. Alfie is subjected to a Medium Shock, and due to his Unmasked perk, Lucius treats it as a Minor shock instead of a Medium shock. Both of you need to make Resolve saving throws against fear, with a DC: 10; the consequences of failure will be determined based on the type of shock they were subjected to. Our two mundane characters, Phillip and Erik, can have plausible deniability as the mask defends their minds; they don't notice Eunice's unbound electrified hair, and their minds rationalize the storm as something that was already building (even though it wasn't). However, at your discretion, you can decide that the mask slips just for a moment and that they see everything, subjecting them to a Major shock and requiring the same Will save at a disadvantage.

It is Erik's turn!

Erik's out of Initiative, @MaJunior , I made a thread for what happens next. I need Initiative for Phillip and Lucius

Lucius turns to look at Eunice once she starts her rather terrifying cackling, his fur involuntarily standing up - thankfully, it doesn't translate to his illusory appearance's hair, otherwise he'd have quite a lot to explain to Phillip. Welp, he knew something was up with these two after he spoke with Simon; a mad scientist and her possibly-undead henchman, then? He can certainly understand the frustration of dealing with such mundane troubles as losing their luggage for someone of that profession. ...But the lightning show was uncalled for.

"Fickle weather, ey?" Lucius grins at Phillip while gesturing over their heads, towards the suddenly thunderous sky. "You know, you should probably go before it starts pouring. I'm sure I'll figure out my baggage troubles on my own - no reason for you to get soaked by lovely local sky torrents on the way back!" And even less reason to get accidentally caught in the crossfire of a mad scientist's frustration, not that Lucius is going to vocalize it.

Rolls

Resolve - Roll (Specialization) - (1d20+0+2d2+1d4)

(11) + (21) + (3) = 17

Reflexes - Roll - (1d20+1d8+1d4)

(17) + (8) + (2) = 27

OOC:
Ignoring the mask slipping, but I think Phillip needs to make a Resolve roll for his phobia.
"You sure?" Phillip looks nervously at the loud crazy lady. He doesn't want to leave his friend in her presence, but he sure as hell doesn't want to stay either.
OOC:
EDIT: Aaaand that's a fail and he's Unnerved. I'm assuming it would affect his Initiative roll as well.

Alarmed, Alfie jumps to his feet and glances around to see if anyone else is seeing this.

Actually, I think we're at a point where Initiative is no longer needed, ironically. Feel free to post without worrying about turn order. Also, since his Phobia came up, make sure to give Phillip 10 XP

OOC:
To clarify: Is Alfie able to see Lucius and other supernatural beings for what they are now or is it only Eunice and Simon?

OOC:
Ah! It was the mask slipping for just a moment for him. When he blinks, everything will be 'normal' again, but unlike the other Mundanes, he'll have memory of what he saw
Mar 18, 2023 3:57 pm
"Yeah, someone probably just took it by mistake, so I'll watch other bags and see if anyone comes by," Lucius pats Phillip's shoulder reassuringly, his eyes not leaving Eunice and Simon, his staff at the ready just in case. "We can catch up later at your place! I was planning to visit anyway, now I'll also have a story to regale you with. Not that it's likely to be a very exciting one, but who knows? Hope you got a ride, by the way, it looks like a storm is coming." The hòuzi tries to subtly push his friend towards the doors, to expedite his exit. He can only hope that every other civilian in here follow the same logic - but that would be too optimistic, wouldn't it?..
OOC:
If Phillip leaves, I'd like to move towards Eunice and Simon as fast as I can without causing a panic. (If not, I'll stay by Phillip instead.)

OOC:
Good to know!
Seeing that no one else in the baggage claim seems as perturbed by this as he is, Alfie looks backs to Eunice and Simon and sees… a normal woman and her manservant. Well, ‘normal’ is perhaps a stretch, but it’s not the full-blown Frankenstein scenario he’s sure he saw before. Feeling disconcerted and a little worried that he might be losing his mind, Alfie picks up his bag and heads for the exit. Maybe if he hurries he won't get caught in the rain...
Mar 21, 2023 1:07 am
The rain began coming down in sheets as Alfie walked outside. As if it wasn't bad enough, as he shifted his weight, the bottom of his luggage ripped, depositing his personal belongings onto the already wet ground.
OOC:
And Alfie's out! I'll set up another thread for him.
Mar 25, 2023 4:09 pm
"See you later then!"

Phillip doesn't have a ride, but he'd rather wait outside for the rain to stop. Lucius seems to have the situation under control, there aren't that many bags left anyway, so one of them is bound to be his. Feeling like a complete coward, Phillip leaves for the parking lot and looks for a relatively sheltered place to wait the rain out.
Mar 29, 2023 4:09 pm
Phillip was able to wait under the bus pickup area, which was directly across the street from the parking lot.
OOC:
And I'll get up a topic for you as well!
Mar 31, 2023 4:03 am
Lucius waves after Phillip, but then his focus quickly snaps back to Eunice and Simon and the houzi starts pushing his way through the crowd towards them - the bag issue forgotten for the moment in the face of both a potential thrill and a public danger. He tries his best not to seem actually concerned to avoid alarming the people mulling around, but underneath the disguise his fur bristles with excitement and his tail lashes the air in apprehension. This promises to be quite a fun one.

Once sufficiently close, Lucius tries to attract the mad scientist's attention by jumping directly into her field of vision: "Oi, señorita, your search not going well? I know the frustration, haven't had any luck myself yet, and there are way too many of these bags! Are you sure you don't need help?" He slides closer to Eunice, ignoring the crackling electricity around her, and adds quieter so that security doesn't overhear: "You know my kin is good at finding stuff? No, really, I can figure it out if you can watch the doors and make sure no more bags like ours leave the perimeter - no zapping required." He glances toward Simon and winks at him: "Bet you'd be good at pretending to be security personnel, big guy."
OOC:
I'm trying to both distract and persuade them to cooperate - to get them to intercept anyone who has the bag. Also, I think this can be classified as my allegiance Public Safety coming into play. Well, either that or Thrill Seeker.
(Am I going to get zapped? I am probably going to get zapped.)
