Baruman is a duende. Standing about 3' 6' tall he is a slight figure, basically humanoid in shape with elongated ears and long toes, and dressed in new clothes and a travelling cloak, with a backpack slung over his shoulder.

Until recently he had spent his entire life living on the streets of a nearby town, so he is completely out of his depth and often terrified.

Ixi is an avian beastfolk, with a harpy look. She's hitting near 5'11" with a wingspan twice as long, covered in large brown and white feathers with a fluffy set of down around her collarbone, shoulders, and lower neck. She has dark marks around her eyes, lightly tan skin, and a resting bitch face that makes her seem more intense than she actually is. She's got long, bird-like legs that end in sharp and dexterous talons.

She travels somewhat light, with several small pouches around her waist with the largest one on her lower back. She's an artist by trade, who has been struck by wanderlust and the desire to see the world at large.

Eddisham is an elvish fortune teller, who carries a shillelagh and practices arcane arts. He dresses in apparently simple garments that are made of high-quality, lightweight and quick-drying cloth. He has a jesting tone almost always, as if he's perpetually ribbing The World in hopes of a good reaction.

Yogitus is a youngish--it's all relative--monk. To the outsider, he appears human and/or half elf with varied eye color and a shaved head. He tends to be open with others, and can frequently be heard reciting mantras or small phrases to help align his mind for the task at hand. His robes are tattered and full, but seem to move gracefully with agile movements.

He has a belt around his midsection with several pouches. He carries nothing else visibly other than a string of prayer beads that sometimes hang from his neck or wrapped around his wrist.

Shmautz is a Cat-Kin in species.

He had been a valet to his Clans-chief according to the heritage and rites. After an incident at a clans-meeting where the lord got injured, he was expelled from the clan and home. Ever since, he's striving the lands alone.

He's wearing a normal but nice-looking robe/short kimono/gi and a bag/rucksack for travelling. He's also wearing a headband with a gem built into it.

Wandering the world mostly alone made him sort of survivalist. His cat-like nature allows him to be acrobatic and swift. Fighting is not his thing, though he's able to defend himself with a dagger.

Fable is a Changeling wandering from place to place doing odd jobs or "liberating" various supplies and "redistributing" them among the poorer people. They usually adopt rather blend looks as to not raise to much suspicion but pride led them to use their chosen name when interacting with people. They have a strong sense of personal freedom but secretly long to find a shelter among people they can never quite belong to.

Fable owns a magical chess piece they call Joe that can be asked for advice.

Meep is a young Owl Beastfolk who makes his living by hunting what he can and trading what he doesn't use to nearby towns. Easily scared he is also determined and wants to find a way to be braver. Not the brightest, Meep thinks being braver and more daring will get him friends, which is all the little owl really wants.

Skeeve is a young human who had been abducted by fey and infected with their magic. He was eventually returned to the natural world, but far from where he originated. He spent time in the wilderness using his fey magic to survive. He is now emerging from the wilderness to see if he can interact with society better and a young adult, rather than an older child.

EDIT: Also, when doing the change I think I screwed up the XML a bit. Since I now no longer have the correct template (since I screwed it up), it would be great if either you could fix it, or you could IM me the correct XML template so I can fix it.

Khaguran is a small, sallow-skinned Duende fella with a wiry build and sharp nose. He dresses in simple homespun clothes and a travel-stained cloak.

Blornvid is your run-of-the-mill dwarf: long auburn hair and beard, broad flat nose, and a penchant for ale or mead. While average height, he has a decent build. Growing up in the family smithy, he's tougher than average with a high tolerance to heat.

Rikia is a human woman who grew up without much provided for her. She's learned to keep herself alive. She's 5’, has tan skin, short brown hair, and glassy periwinkle eyes. She is often seen wearing a cloak.

Alexander is a male human teenager often seen in a brown tunic tainted with the dust and grime it gets covered with as he acts as the resident errand boy. He's a little short for his age and not exactly the strongest, but he knows how to talk his way out of any situation. Or at least, he tries.

He's not thrilled in his position in life, and he thinks the expedition is his step towards the next level.

Nekgen Bludgeboil is a minotaur of good beastfolk stock. He keeps things simple in terms of outfit and attitude, preferring the times he spent as a butcher in his village to the travails of travels. That said, adventuring looks good on him.

Years of blood spatters having stained the man myriad crimsons. As they say, its hard to wash the blood out, so he bears the spotty complexion of a bovine in burgundy and brown hues. His fur is well kept at that, as are his scout leathers and boots. And most especially, of course, are the polished and gleaming heads of his double-bit axe. Always at the ready, slung over the shoulder.

One will often find Nekgen among the people, patiently waiting for the next move or inquiring about the previous one. He's often apologizing for his impetuous tail, which whooshes to and fro, dusting as if it were a broom because of his excitement. Curiosity and excitement go hand in hand for Nekgen, you see.

Seren is a changeling who usually wears the form of a hunched foxfolk in tattered robes with a mask carved from hardwood. She has spent many long years tending to her grove deep in the forest, but something has called her out; to adventure.

Raggy is a wolf beastfolk. He stands tall on two legs at about 6', but has the hip anatomy to be on all fours also. Beside him is his life long companion, an actual wolf by the name of Ro. Ro looks like a friendly wolf with a simple green cloth around her neck like a bandana. Raggy wears simple greens, browns, and grays to blend into the forest. A few packs line his waist, but no bothersome backpack for when he runs on all fours. Around his neck hangs two necklaces. On one there is a simple bone knife and the other is his sling that he uses to hunt. Before adventuring the duo was small game hunters providing their village with meat from animals such as rabbits.

Athria (No Clan) is a female Lizard folk, standing at 5ft tall, though she often seems shorter as she's comfortable on all fours. Her black scales are matt and soft, but she has a head crest and throat flares of colourful lime green, which she can flatten or display as the mood takes her. Her slitted green eyes are expressive and often narrow to let her focus on some small detail. A tail and a mouth of sharp needle like teeth complete her physical attributes. She wears loose clothing and a cloak, with a belt and pack to carry various belongings. A short sword and cross-guard is strapped across her back to reduce noise. She speaks good human standard but her reptilian throat is unable to filter out some of the natural hisses and clicks that develop in her voice

Vlaxander Tanmarch, yet some call him Vlax or Axe for short, is a mature middle-aged adult human. He is about 5'10" and a chunky 250#. He is of average build otherwise, but very charismatic, and appears both wise and intelligent. He has short well-kept grey hair and goatee beard. When he removes his floppy hat, he is balding on top. He has carmel tanned white skin.

He wears what was once a fine wool vest suit, which was likely very expensive at one time. Now, it is a bit tattered with small stitches and a few patches, plus oversized so it can be worn over some kind of leather armor. A weathered ruddy greenish brown cloak covers a belt full of pouches and pockets, bulging with trinkets and baubles. Otherwise, when traveling, he usually wears a backpack with a shortsword and shield in view, plus sturdy boots.

Vlax is very extroverted, prone to verbose dialogue, and well-spoken. He is frequently making interesting boasts, joking incessantly, and telling incredible stories about the people and sites he has seen, yet he struggles to remember specific names or places, and this obviously bothers him. If you ask, he will tell you, that he seeks to find a cure for this ailment which is much of his motivation for exploring.

Ulkar is a human who grew up learning carpentry from his parents. He loved learning how to build more complex structures and objects and this grew into a love of studying any intricate structure or object no matter what it was made of. His parents also taught him that courage and bravado only leads to death and misery. Better to keep low and escape to continue your life with those you love.

While this hasn't led to him being timid or shying away from people in general, just a preference not to fight or go into harms way if it is possible. Granted, this has been conflicted with his drive to find all the amazing things he has heard about adventurers discovering out away from civilization. He would go mad sitting at home in complete safety just waiting for others to bring the new things to him. Ulkar is sociable as anyone else and enjoys good company more than being alone. No one would describe him as raucous or belligerent however.

While he tries to keep himself away from imminent danger, he has no intention of abandoning any of his teammates during conflict. After all, he is well aware how dangerous it is to be out in the wilderness by oneself. So he pushes himself to cast out into the wilds in search of new trinkets and contraptions that no one else has seen before and figure out how they work.

Ulkar is 5'7" with a stocky build, curly hair, olive skin, and a voice akin to Paul Giamatti

Aashas is a monitor lizardkin. Originated from the swamp, she has a slim elongated body, tall for her kind, about 4.9 ft. Long snake neck ends in a narrow face with small yellow eyes that blink rarely enough to look weird for someone who is not reptilekin. Brown-green scales make her indistinguishable from a mossy log in swamps, but don't provide good camouflage in the city. Shoulders are covered with a long cloak that slowly changes color to match the surroundings. Under the cloak she wears leather clothes and couple of pouches and belts with pockets.
Her movements are quick and efficient, but without the need to act, she freezes in place completely still. Sometimes it is difficult for her to start speaking or find the right words, the use of human speech requires some effort.

Tuit is a Duende. He recently left his home and clan in the mines to make his own way in the world. He worked in the mines for many years, but always felt restless. He made a name for himself in the local boxing circuit as well. After losing his mother to a mining accident, he decided it was time to see what else was out there. His family was angry with his leaving, so he left quietly in the night, bringing very little with him. He is older and balding with a large white beard. His clothes are clean and of good make, but worn. He is good-natured, loyal, and always down for a scrap. His main motivation is to see the world and all it has to offer.

Preslynn is an elf. He grew up in a typical elf household. As he reached adulthood, he felt the strong pull of nature. He decided to become a hermit and better attune to nature. It is now his duty to see vengeance to all who do great harm to the environment.

Emilia is a human, around 20 years old, of remarkably small stature. She is serious, and confident in her job as a mercenary, but takes pride in following her own code of conduct.

She has already made a name for herself in this field of work: recognizable both for her appearance and the exotic magitech armaments girl is utilizing, Emilia takes on many jobs: usually those dealing with violence, though she is not against providing different manner of service as escort or sometimes even serving as a courier.

Rumors go, she has ties to criminal circles, but as of recent years as a mercenary had lost former "prestige" among them, mainly due to carrying out a few bounty hunting jobs.

Her dream is to see the lands united and ruled in an orderly fashion, while all the questionable individuals be either joined or driven out. Emilia's work is bloody, but it's purpose is noble - at least in her own view.

Appearance:
You see a Duende girl - young woman she'd loudly proclaim if she heard you - of medium height (for a Duende) and wiry build. With her painstakingly maintained fiery red hair, crooked nose, twinkling eyes, and as oft as not, a lopsided grin, she looks interesting rather than lovely. Her traveling garb looks worn but also as if they might've received an inordinate amount of care.

Background:
Arry grew up in a quiet village where little of note happened beyond the sow next door taking ill or the odd wandering minstrel passing through. While her Ma was possessed of a disreputably (for a Duende) adventurous streak, her Pa was the picture of Duende respectability, wanting nothing more than home, hearth, his garden, and time every evening for friends, a pipe and an ale. Ma left soon after on her adventures but would often return to present Arry with wondrous trinkets and to regale her with tales of distant lands and all manner of people. Arry, of course, was stuck home with Pa like a good little Duende saddled with chores that did not take. News reached Arry and her Pa one day that her Ma might've been lost in some horrid swamps but they never found out for sure.

So off went Arry one day with a hastily scrolled letter to her Pa. She wants to satisfy her wandering itch and to know more about her Ma's fate. In the quiet night by a roadside fire, Arry tells herself, "One day I will write such fantastical tales of my adventure that rich lords and even princes will shower me with gold for tales sometimes hair-raising, at other times rip-roaring and they will call me ... The Wandering Chronicler!" She makes a face and adds to herself, "Maybe then I can afford a nice lavender tunic (with sequins of course) and boots that won't kill my feet so!"

Haunted by the cries of the starving and the sight of the afflicted, Brother Timothy sought guidance in the quiet depths of his chapel. In a moment of fervent prayer, he felt a profound shift in his purpose. He interpreted this as a divine directive to take his compassion beyond the confines of his monastery. The world outside was plagued by strife, disease, and darkness, and he sensed that his determination and his unwavering faith could serve as a beacon of hope.

Gardakhan is an average looking duende.
At a young age he discovered a special attunement with the spirit world. He was able to see things others couldn't, he felt things others couldn't. It had not been long before Indruk the shaman of his tribe took him as a pupil. Things where great, until the Nightmare arrived. His master now too old for such an adventure, it felt on him to find the source of the Nightmare and put an end to it.

Etcher is cheerful, eager to please, fascinated by anything shiny, and an expert with his sword. His true origin is a mystery. The Avian was found as a child by a group of bandits calling themselves the Brotherhood of Justice. They were neither a brotherhood nor interested in justice, mainly shaking down local communities for protection money. The leader Alfred would disingenuously proclaim himself a hero of the area, and its heroic protector. Something much to the amusement of the others, Etcher seemed to honestly believe. Etcher was cheerful and eager to make himself useful to the band, becoming a mix between a mascot and a servant for the group. Etcher never seemed to have picked up common. He spoke only in one or two word sentences and would squawk to fill in gaps. His favorite words were ‘shiny’ and ‘justice’ which the members found hilarious.

Things changed when he reached maturity, which is when "the voice" started to manifest. "The voice" would come from Etcher, a deep baritone, full complex sentences, about heroism and justice. As soon as it came, it would leave, Etcher’s behavior would seemingly return to normal. The band developed a few theories of why their strange friend behaved the way he did. The most widespread theory was that he was from a bloodline of malfunctioning War-Born. A theory with some credence, he had an almost supernatural talent with the blade and athleticism to match. The more religious members would joke that he was a prophet of the god of justice (if they were deep in their cups). Alfred had another theory, that ate at him each night. All of Etcher’s words were his own, but said with conviction, without irony. Alfred became convinced Etcher was mocking him. In a moment of rage he revoked Etcher’s membership leaving the Avian without a family once again.

Etcher comes to the Shattered Lands in search of a new family, ‘shinies’, and to pursue justice.

Finch is a Arakokra hailing from a mountain village not too far away.

As a young ranger of his tribe he would spend his day's out hunting for food, using his trust magic earrings of echoing to listen for his prey.

Its through those earrings he heard of an expedition open to any willing adventurer. Being young and wreckless and with no family ties, he flew off to see what he could find out.

Rhidon is a middle-aged Dwarf with greyish hair and an overall scrappy appearance. He wears no noticeable armor, but has some metal nunchaku hanging at his side.

Since completing his martial arts training at a local monastery, he has been acting as a courier transporting rare items between towns for special clients of his father’s shop. It is a family business, and his brother and father scold Rhidon as he occasionally wastes too much time on these journeys aiding strangers in need.

Barley is a middle aged-elf with short black hair, friendly smile, and curious disposition. He wears a simple garment and carries a short sword on his left hand side.

Born into poverty, there weren't a lot of opportunities for Barley growing up. So, it was not surprising that he became an enforcer for a local "business man" of dubious repute.

While the work required him to train his body, he was able to sneak moments away to browse his employers vast private library. There he learned to read and eventually grew interested in the greater world beyond.

After a particularly harrowing job, he had enough and abandoned his position. He has been travelling the world ever since as a wandering scholar, experiencing all it has to offer.

Ealdwig is a young 23 year old, happy-go-lucky Duende, but he looks to be 12 years old to most people. He is short, just under 3'-3", but he'll tell you he's 3'-4" at least, and slender. He is fair skinned, has pretty large ears, disheveled brown hair and usually a big smile on his baby face.

He has quick hands and feet and has made his living as a street performer doing some acrobatic tricks, living off tips and the few gigs he can get. When not performing you may encounter him playing 3-card Monty or the shell game for additional cash. His fast hands and baby face give him quite the advantage.

And when things get bad, Ealdwig can resort to pick-pocketing, petty crime and even begging (you wouldn't believe what a face like this can get away with). You've gotta do what you've gotta do. He does have a code, only take from those that can afford it, and really tries to stick to it.

Ealdwig really is enjoying life and always seeking the next fun adventure.

Edair is a middle aged human of average height, he has long black hair and a beard, he has a rather unfriendly demeanor and usually has a scowl on his face, he wields a greatsword on his back.

He was born into poverty and there wasn’t much opportunities growing up, at the age of 18, he joined his town guard as a watchman, a few years after later, he had enough of the mundane guard work and only recently doing mercenary work. He has a moral code for clients that hire him.

Vaun Kaiser, is a curious man with a mysterious air around him. He wears a tight-fitting jacket and and trouser, covered by a black leather longcoat. His face is covered by a beaked mask with googles for eyes. It's clear that he has worked with the plague doctors in the far off academy. Strapped to his belt is a shiny, long knife that is polished to reflection. He also carries a weathered, studded leather gladstone bag wherever he goes.

Vaun Kaiser is obviously out of place for an adventurer, but here he is wandering along for some reason. Is it because he is escaping from something or is it because he needs money? He is very friendly and offers his skill in healing and helping people for a modest price. You can also notice him scribbling and writing about various things on his spare time.

Beruga is often mistaken for a bear at first glance, but actually takes the form of an enormous pika. Her home is in the high mountains, and she ventures far and wide to gather trinkets and other valuables for Ki, her infant daughter.

Beruga is a quadruped that has minimal dexterity with her front paws, but can wield weapons and other items by swinging them around her collar and storing them in her harness.

While Beruga is generally one of the most gentle souls you could find, she will not hesitate to unleash hell (in the form of a morning star swinging from her neck) on those who threaten her.

Belagroff is a rotund Hill Dwarf from Clan Bearjaw. He supports his passion for exotic foods and fine wines (ale is for the unwashed masses) by "liberating" gems and jewels from various tombs and dungeons.

He loves the art of making the deal to earn the most gold for his culinary endeavors. He is armed with his trusty 2-handed war club that he affectionately calls "Baby".

Trod is a happy human male youth.
Bald (by choice, unlike his player) he was raised by monks on a secluded mountain. A place he loves and has never left...until now of course.
Background...
Trods life was simple. He travelled the mountain helping the hermit monks. Cooking, hunting, cleaning, repairing. In return the monks taught him about the world.

Despite Trod's keen interest in everything he never desired to leave his beautiful mountain. It was a constant comforting presence. He was happy and his body was strong. Occasionally he wondered about his past, how did he come to be here? But the monks always had the same answer...a week of silence. He stopped asking.

Years passed. Without warning all the monks vanished. Trod continued alone for a while. Quietly training, meditating, surviving. In the end a single thought brought him down from the mountain.

"Perhaps there are others I can help?"

Ishzu is a sentient crystal being. They send their time walking about the world searching for something or someone.
They are quiet and kind. Only speaking to others when needed. They prefer to watch in the background and help in mysterious ways..

In the hushed recesses of an ancient, forgotten realm, a mysterious entity labored in obscurity, weaving together crystalline fragments of the cosmos into a sentient being. Ishzu emerged from the convergence of these celestial shards, awakened to a world shrouded in enigma. With no memory of their origin or purpose, Ishzu, akin to a wandering constellation, embarked on a quest to unveil the cryptic identity of their creator and to seek others akin to their existence.
Driven by an insatiable curiosity and an inherent desire to assist denizens along their path, Ishzu roamed the realms, their translucent form shimmering under the moon's ethereal glow. As nightfall draped the lands, farmers whispered tales of the unseen helper who aided them under the veiled guise of the night. Ishzu, their crystalline form blending seamlessly with the moonlight, would surreptitiously finish tasks left incomplete by weary laborers, leaving behind fields meticulously plowed or fences expertly mended, an ethereal guardian passing by without a trace.
Despite the intrinsic solitude that encapsulated their existence, Ishzu found solace in the act of aiding others, offering assistance in a clandestine dance beneath the celestial heavens. Their journey continued, an ethereal wanderer traversing the realms, seeking clues to their genesis, while weaving their clandestine acts of kindness like stardust scattered upon the tapestry of the world

Hello! I'm excited to start adventuring with y'all. I'll be playing as:

Gus Dorrenson: a humble duende cook who is determined to travel the world looking for rare ingredients and recipes to use in his cooking. He loves getting to know different cultures and seeing different plants and animals. His curiosity and wanderlust sometimes get him into trouble but, as he always says: "any problems can be solved by a well prepared meal". He is optimistic (almost to a fault) and tends to see the good in everyone, even if they don't see it in themselves.

Gus is fairly short and rather round at the waist. He has a long beard and likes to wear a pointy hat (where he stores a jar of his best seasoning). He carries a backpack that's a little too big for his small frame and it's stuffed to the brim with cooking supplies, ingredients, and spices. Strapped to the outside is his bedroll, kitchen knives, and his favorite frying pan.

Hello! Very glad to be onboard. My character is Oliver, an otterfolk (beastfolk-mammal) who loves alchemy and a well-chucked explosive flask in the name of beast and beastfolk freedom. He values a playful and compassionate attitude to all life, but is wary of those who take themselves too seriously.

Background:

Oliver is an otterfolk who used to have a simple life in a travelling circus. Juggle a few balls, clap three times while fireworks fill the scene, and appear to be smart. Just not so smart. To the beastfolk, this was an easy way to travel, provided they escaped on destination, but some became content, losing their former selves for three square meals a day. Oliver only recalls what rekindled his spark back then. It was the fireworks, the smoke clouds, the kind artist behind them, and watching that single drop of igniting alchemical substance. One question at a time led Oliver to learn a few tricks, and eventually escape, in search of more answers.

He now travels the Wildlands and cities in search of alchemical ingredients and knowledge, and a few explosions here and there for the sheer love of it. Despite everything, he still values the simplicity of a ball well juggled, and a playful and kind attitude at life. This has also taught him to be wary of anyone «not willing to play a simple game of catch».

Aizashi Nobara is a Honey Badger Beastfolk. He wants to one day be a steadfast defender of his village and those who are weaker than him. He has been a capable martial artist, ever since he was young, sparring with his siblings and neighbors. When he couldn't learn any more from that he left his home to improve his martial prowess. He has only been wandering a short time but is realizing that the world is much bigger than he thought.

Gorman Trevow is 5' 8" tall of sturdy build with blue eyes and chestnut brown hair that flows down his back. As a child he was brought up as a carpenter and woodsman but as he grew older he spent more time in the forest learning hunting skills and less at home making furniture. When he became of age he decided to leave his village and seek his fortune as an itinerant huntsman.

Hello all. I am happy to be joining your adventure and hopefully we will meet somewhere on the Shattered Lands one day.

Kaarik is a noble elf, youngish but already well into adulthood, he lived a life of idleness in the elf community. His lineage allowed him to focus on his education as a child and reading books now that he is now a grown elf. As all elf nobles, he received the best of theoretical education.
Books allowed him to escape and learn about the world and different species that inhabit it.

Contrary to his kin and the other members of his class, Kaarik is an idealist who dreams of a world where all species would live in harmony once more and where they could all me named "The People".
His book studies assure him that there will be a world where all beings can live equally and in peace.

He is upset with his kin for not acting and decides that it is time for him to pack his books and do something to make all beings a little bit more equals.

Brewner is Human, tall with a powerful frame, with dark brown eyes and hair.
Is from a clan named Noric of the Shattered Lands that was mostly destroyed in the Shattering, he is one of the few of his people that survived. He have the common equipment for an adventurer but he also have a king from a chess set that contains an ancestor trapped. He wanderer the known world looking for adventure and a new place to call home.

Arc, a ravenfolf of back feathers, was raised by a family of shop owners. In a canopy-like small town, where his parents run the only trading post. From a young age he would help his parents (and numerous siblings) in any way needed: ordering products in the shelves, giving messages, helping customers, visiting suppliers, registering accounts (this last one, quite boring, but somebody had to do it), among other things.
When he reached adulthood, he wanted to travel and see the world, so he packed a few of his belongings and flew. He is not fond of battle or any violence, but acknowledges the need for hunt to eat, and to fight to defend what he thinks is right, so he carries a bow and a dagger. But prefer more civilized ways to solve issues and usually is happy to help around, this is why he developed a strong focus on diplomacy.

Were you to encounter Mina Tokala-Croille, she would draw your attention in the same manner as a delicate goblet placed on a shelf among glass tankards – not shockingly out-of-place, necessarily, but not naturally fitting in either. Quietly she would eye you from her isolated perch in the corner, her gold-green eyes darting away and her lips curling in a timid smile the instant your gazes met. At first glance, you might have mistaken her for human, but upon further analysis you would realize that tucked beneath her hood are large, pointy ears to match the shock of long, rusty hair tumbling over her shoulders. Quickly she would tuck away the piece of paper she was furtively scribbling on, avoiding eye contact with you as she makes her exit. As you turn to follow her progress, you would note a fox-like tail swishing beneath her long green cloak.

Andarian – That’s the style of her garb, you’d realize in that moment. The fabric is different, though – softer and lighter than you’re accustomed to seeing from that corner of the Shattered lands. And also, she is walking around barefoot…. How odd.... Well, whoever this petite creature is and whatever her business, she looks to be a long way from home….

Ultime d’Mon-Chelevant is a human in his mid twenties, though he looks a little younger. He's average height, with a strong, lithe build, and has short brown hair and brown eyes. He often tries for a brave and stoic demeanor, but a closer look will easily reveal his underlying uncertainty. He's generally quiet and not the first to speak up, but will engage any friendly inquiries in a like manner. His bow and large hunter's knife mark his profession. He seems content to follow the lead of Mina, his current traveling companion.

Felix Flordenlord, is from a relatively large and old town. He works as a grave digger, as well as tending to the crypts, he grew up in the profession, practically the family business. Felix's father was a grave digger, as was his father before him and his father before him, but his father before him was Swordsman for hire. Nothing high born, but a decent mercenary, with a respectable reputation. He even got his own crypt, where the subsequent Flordenlords were laid to rest.

Felix is 6 feet tall, slim (but good muscle definition from all the digging) and very attractive (as far as human males go). Short wavy (some might say floppy) brown hair, with frosted tips (Must be friends with an alchemist). He likes nice clothes, although they aren't the newest, and have a slight earthiness to them.

Digging graves, even with his families magical spade, is not Felix's idea of a fulfilling life. However he has found that spending the rest of his time in Pubs, Taverns, Dance Halls, Casinos, does make him pretty happy. The "Bar" has been his 2nd home, growing up playing cards, sneaking drinks, telling tales (some tall). As such he developed a skill at spotting deception or others moods, resulting in plenty of pots at the poker table. Even when he won those around him were never too angry, he got along with most.

But the cemetery, graveyard, always came calling, he had a duty, a Flordenlord duty, to perform.

There's not a lot of mental stimulation in his profession, so Felix became an expert at names and dates. Reading from the tombstones and Crypt plaques, he began (in his early teens) to greet them "Good morning Mr. Glomkin" as he walked by. "Oh Mrs. Feverstill don't get up, it's only me, Felix. Yes yes, I'll pull those weeds." And that led to more involved (one sided) conversations. Soon enough he had plenty of company during his digging and tending hours.

Until one day, when he was 18;
"You know it's Blomkin, not Glomkin. The engraver got it wrong and my family were too poor, or disinterested, to do anything about it."
Felix about soiled his drawers and fell back into the grave he had been digging.

The spirit of Mr. Blomkin had appeared above his grave and spoke to Felix.

"Well you're not the only bored soul around here" Mr. Blomkin explained.

It wasn't long before Felix was visited by many more spirits around the cemetery, and eventually he learned to call upon them too.
"Mr. Glom-Blomkin........you seen my bucket?"

However one spirit, or family of spirits, were not called upon by Felix. In fact he avoided that area of the cemetery, where the Flordenlord crypt sat.

Until one day - after many drinks and losing track of time Felix remembered he had to prepare a grave site for a morning burial. Stumbling his way back to work in the dark he took his old route, one avoided for several years, which carried him directly past the Flordenlord crypt. A massive spectre rose up in front of Felix, blocking his path.
"Who-err-yoo" Felix queried with blurred eyes.

To cut a long story short (too late) it was the first occupant of that crypt, his sword wielding ancestor, Florial Flordenlord. Florial instructed Felix to push the lid off of his sarcophagus in the crypt, retrieve his great sword, replace the lid, and get the hell out of town to find a more interesting life. The end.

Ashlan was born in the Northern regions of the world with 6 toes on each of his feet. He hated the cold, his breed did not grow fur, so he was left to wear clothing so that he would not freeze to death. When he was older, sick and tired of dealing with the harsh winters, he left his home and traveled on southward.

Learning to survive on his own, he started to use the natural talents that he had in order to pay, or steal meals. Much of his teens to adulthood would have him placed in a number of different prisons. Some of which he escaped, some, he was forced to complete his sentence.

Going to these prisons was his education in the arts of theft, burglary, pickpocketing and finding/disarming traps. his little hands are able to fit into a great deal of places and they allow him to work easily, his large ears letting him listen to the locking mechanisms and his sharp eyes are able to pin point traps.

He wishes to steal a large enough fortune that he is able to live off of it for the rest of his life, buy some land down south, build a home and possibly start a family there.

Stee Jans is a young human who has spent his short life with his father in the forests here and there. He is 5'9" about 160 lbs. He always has his long bow with him and is always ready to show off his skill with it. He has his fathers easy manner and quick to smile. He wears leather armour that his father had crafted for him under his greenish brown cloak.

Elyse is the youngest daughter of a renowned goblin jeweler family. She is extremely outgoing and her childlike build and demeanor endears her to most who encounter her. She is travelling the lands looking for stones and gems she can bring back to her family to work and craft to further the family reputation as fine jewelers. She is a gifted story teller and has a certain panache embellishing the stories she tells with small illusions of the characters and places she tells. As long as there is an audience, there is always a corner for Elyse to curl up in for the night and a spare bowl of stew to keep the storyteller content.

Serig is the sole survivor of a mysterious massacre of his pack. The youngest of his family, This tragedy turned the once warm and exuberant young cub into a cold and intimidating wolf beastfolk. He fell into adventuring, wandering and passing through different lands like a specter, compelled only by his blistering desire for revenge and the frigid, piercing yearning to reunite with his long-lost loved ones.

Yet despite all of this, not to mention his conviction to never let anyone close, Serig's repressed ache for another pack to call his own rears its head, and drives him to protect the weak, the helpless, and most of all, those that remind him of his family's ghosts.

Dree stands at 5’9, is lean but well muscled, has long black hair, pointed ears, lavender eyes, and carries a great axe. Dree was born to a human father and an elven mother in the wilds of the northern forests. Her mixed heritage made her stand out among the tribe she grew up with, but it also gifted her with a unique blend of strength and grace. From a young age, Dree showed immense talent in hunting and tracking, always eager to prove herself as strong as any member of the tribe.

As she grew older, Dree's adventurous spirit led her to venture beyond the borders of her tribe's territory, seeking out new challenges, experiences, and a place to feel the belonging she never found with the tribe. Despite her tough exterior, Dree possesses a kind heart that stirs within her whenever she encounters injustice or suffering.

Zevakyn's a young human of 15 years, orphaned at an early age and raised by Mother. 'Mother', for all intents and purposes, appears to be the worn old sword Zeva carries everywhere. Or so Zeva says. No one's quite sure if she's telling the truth, or just complete bonkers. If her sanity matches her fashion sense (rags and a mishmash of random leather armour), it might just be the latter.

Growing up, Zeva and Mother spent their lives chasing after various bounties, following the strict rules of knighthood: honor, courage, and most importantly, conartistry. Because Mother was once wielded by a knight, who also moonlighted as a conartist. Very good stuff.

During their adventures, they hear rumours of the grave of Mother's old Knight. Mother wishes to be laid to rest there, and so they set out one last merry adventure to find the old Knight's grave.

Glidbem was born into a group of wandering Duende traders, who traveled the Shattered Lands bartering what they had for what they needed. Sometime during her youth the group came into possession of a small collection of books covering all manner of subjects about the world. To most these would be useless tomes full of indecipherable text, good only for trading, but Glidbem took a keen interest in them. Though she couldn't read them, something about the glyphs contained within sparked her curiosity, and a desire for understanding would drive her to learn about them. Whenever the group came across someone who seemed learned enough to read the glyphs she would pester them endlessly to teach her more of what they meant. As the years went on she slowly began to gain a fuller understanding of the common language, and could read and understand books on just about any topic all by herself.

As she grew, so too did her curiosity for the world and her desire to know more about it, and so once she came of age she left the caravan to seek out a place where she sate her need for understanding. She would eventually find herself in the employment of a library, where she would further continue her studies when she wasn't busy organizing shelves. Once she heard of the expedition to Paphos however, her mind began to race with possibilities of what knowledge could be contained within it, feeling the same sense of wonder she experienced as a child looking through those first tomes. With a hurry she left the library to try and ensure a spot on the expedition team, eager to discover any and all secrets that the city may hold.

I can't say that I really remember being born. I don't think my kind is "born", really. My first memory is of the river. I achieved consciousness near it, and I enjoyed the creatures that traversed it. The large scaly beasts were my favorite, and I would stomp and splash around as one of them, enjoying the displacement of the water around me. Then I started to see the pinkskinned people - the ones I would later come to know as Hank and Nel. I tried them out - Nel was less agile than a scaly, but more versatile, able to grab onto things and hold and twist them. Hank was less quick, but stronger, taller and I loved the feel of the bristles that jutted out in front of my speaking-hole when I was him. The noises were incredible. Over time I discovered that they had meaning.

Nel and Hank weren't like scalies, though. They didn't like seeing themselves reflected in me, said it made me something called a "Changeling" (an odd mouth sound, as it felt both like a slur and like a glove at the same time) and that I shouldn't impersonate people. They insisted I come up river with them to see the Safeguard of Paphos. Weird group of pinkskins, they really focused more on the mouth sounds with me. Now they want me to go on something called an Expedition, they think it will be good for me, better learning than being in their vertical river all the time. I just hope it's as fun as they promise it to be.

Trevor is a young adult human who spent most of his years as a student in a Mage's Tower. Besides being really interested on studying and gathering knowledge, he never did well in his magical studies, not showing any talent; he'd rather go out at nights to attend festivals, drink his share and impress the ladies with his natural skill with throwing knives and archery contests.

He always felt the need for something more. Someday, a band of adventurers came in the tower, bragging about how they were going into a great adventure. Mesmerized, he decided to secretly hop on with them, starting his life of adventure!

He now lives as a wandering vagabond, always cheerful, a force of chaotic energy, bringing ruckus whenever he steps, changing peoples and places forever, wherever he passes by.

Gutelos is a Duende miner who has a significant amount of Goblin ancestry, which reveals itself in his odd sense of humour and his wide, wide mouth filled with sharp, needle-like teeth. Though he sometimes finds it hard making friends because of this, those who do give him the time of day find him a good friend, if an odd one, and know that in any expedition underground, he will try his utmost to ensure they survive the journey.

He isn't that great in a fight, to be fair, but he knows his way around traps, and can cast illusions that frequently save his friends and himself.

Wemmick is a middle aged human who stands 5'8". He is always well dressed and plucking at his lute. Wemmick is a charismatic person with an easy way about himself. This is due to the fact that Wemmick is educated which has often given him an advantage in life as well as the fact Wemmick is a skilled duelist with his rapier often using his acrobatics he picked up in his youth in the circus to his advantage in battle.

Poppy is a scavenger and forager. She is most at home in natural settings where she can connect to the spirits. She is a bit of a traveling vagabond and seeks out the plants, animals, and life force of the earth.

In urban areas this makes her a kind of outcast and she has learned to not trust the city folk and their strange ways. They are puzzled by her erratic nature and ramblings to what seems like no one.
