The rogue and the paladin rush into position and tear into the Vanth. Jaware let's two adamantine arrows fly, including a spell delivered by the second arrow.

The vanth had a fear aura. DC 17 save or be Shaken. It reaps Tabat twice with its scythe.

The two esoboks defend it attacking, Iseret and Tabat respectively.

Tabat takes 25, Iseret takes 5.

Tabat is immune to fear and exudes an aura that grants anyone within 10ft of him +4 to saves vs fear. That should hit Iseret, at least.

Tabat reaches up and touches his forehead. "Horus, guide me," he says as divine healing spreads through his body. "Hya!!" he swings the flail again at the creature.

Today I learned flails are 19-20. You'd thought I would know that by now :p

Khadi grits her teeth as the scythe sinks into Tabat. Thos was meant to be a spar but she was pretty sure she wouldn't survive hits like that. Even Tabat may not be able to handle another.

She moves in, trying not to remember what happened last time she was in close proximity with an Esobok and touches Tabat shoulder letting positive energy flow through him.

Spont casting cure moderate, losing Iron skin.

The priests call a halt as Iseret delivers a vicious blow to the outsider, who crumples to the ground. A quick spell stabilizes the vanth from death's door.

Nakht Shepses

Nakht is dumbfounded at the turn of events. He stands proudly, however and says to you, "I am convinced. I will give you a chance to end the undead uprising your way before summoning more psychopomps into the city."

Sebti the Crocodile

Sebti herself heals any remaining wounds on Tabat. To the four of you she whispers, "Thank you."

More loudly and formerly she then asks, "Will you enter the necropolis and search for a clue as to the cause of the uprising?"

This is a level up milestone, advance your characters to level 5! You'll be given time to rest once more, and then some advice on searching the dead side of the city.

Khadi is in the middle of readying another spell as the Vanth crumples and she stand there for a moment surprised before a grin crosses her face and she walks he to Tabat and Iseret, placing an arm around the paladin's shoulders, and a hand on the halfling shoulder. 'My friends, reminded me never to piss you off.'

As Sebti speaks she nods. 'Of course.'

"Hah!" Tabat laughs even as the outcome of the battle is fresh in his mind. "You could never do such a thing, Khadi."

Tabata allows Sebti's healing to course through his body. "Thank you, your holiness."

He peers to Nakht as well, nodding in respect. "It is no question. We are the Destined Delvers, and if hope to end this scourge lies with us, we must go there. I am sure resources are tight right now, but any aid you could give might prove valuable. Might you have any healing draughts or holy water available for this mission?" In an effort to be diplomatic, he addresses both Septi and Nakht equally.

YAY! Congrats on level 5, everyone! I think this is the highest level I've naturally reached in a 1e Pathfinder game in PbP
