"Ramen? You don't want to get your fortune read?"

Brett quickly looks up and compares the height of both buildings
Feb 18, 2023 11:31 pm
Both buildings are of equal height, an estimated twenty stories tall. While the ground floor are businesses the upper stories are likely residential.

"Alright. Noodle heaven it is."

Brett taps Sergei on the shoulder and takes a rear facing position near the alley wall by the door. He pulls his rifle back out and sights down the alley ready to issue suppressing fire.

Sergei takes Brett’s lead and does the same.

"Way to not blend in," Numa mutters to himself before rushing down the alley with the others.

You quickly file into the ramen shop and find a variety of people in various states of panic. Some crouch beneath the tables, some stand around the windows looking out, some are completely unperturbed and sit eating placidly... All turn to look at the armored cyberpunks poorly concealing long arms as they shuffle in. The hostess stares at you in shock as if not sure what to say...
Feb 19, 2023 7:16 pm
Brett closes the door behind them and locks it. He looks at the employees before raising his eyebrows as if to say, "Meh"

He then produces a wad of cash

"Pick up, for Walter White."
Feb 19, 2023 8:12 pm
The hostess looks at the cash and then looks at the chef standing behind the raw bar, chef knife in hand. He looks at Brett for a split second and then nods his head towards the kitchen. The hostess takes the money and says "Please, exit through the kitchen to loading dock, other side of building."

As you follow the hostess back towards the kitchen, once you are out of sight of the restaurant patrons the hostess whispers to you "I say that for guests to hear. Hide in walk-in and we tell police you ran out back door."
Feb 19, 2023 8:26 pm
Flesher was actually considering getting a bowl of broth and noodles, but the whole scene developed rather quickly. She sees that there are soft boiled eggs in the walk-in and pops one in her mouth as soon as the hostess lady was out of sight.
OOC:
Is it still possible to hear the going’s on in the cafe from in the walk-in? Flesher will want to verify the lady’s story.

Mr. Brett allows his eyes to unfocus slightly and take the waitress in in her entirety as she speaks. He considers her words and body language....

Although the hostess seems shaken by the recent massive explosion one block over she does not exhibit the tells of lying.
Feb 20, 2023 4:16 am
Brett palms her half the money and holds the other half up to make a point

"You tell that to anyone that comes looking."

With that he backs into the fridge holding the rest of the money up in the universal sign for half now, half when we're safe
OOC:
once the door is closed Brett looks for anything he can use as a cup and put it up to the door so he can listen

Sergei draws down on the door ready to fire upon anyone who opens with ill intentions. He listens carefully for any sign of what’s going on outside.

OOC:
Sorry, but I don't play at weekends. Read all, but not entirely sure I understand everything. So we are at the freezer room in the back of ramen restaurant? With only one exit?? Any ventilation?
Neon seeing that Sergei and Mr. Brett are guarding the door Neon looks around the room for any additional exit from the room. Especially checking the floor and celling.

Numa trusts the noodle shop owner instinctively and gives a very slight bow of thanks and is the first to enter the freezer.

OOC:
It is not a freezer. A "walk-in" is a refrigerator. I guess you haven’t worked in a restaurant before ;)

Brett's eyes wander down to he case again. He wraps a hand around the handle

"Hey... uh... Choom. Anybody coming our way? Can you let me know if anyone is coming?"
Feb 21, 2023 2:26 am
The door to the walk-in is thick and insulated, no sound passes through regardless of the size of the cup used to spy. The crew waits with baited breath and then suddenly there is a loud bump against the walk-in door and some yelling from outside. Brett, hand on handle, nearly rips the door open but Numa gives him a look that says "trust the process" and Brett holds back. After three very chilly minutes and three hard-boiled eggs down Flesher's throat, the door slowly opens from the outside. A bruised and trembling hostess peeks inside and nods that all is clear.

As you step out you see there has been a commotion in the kitchen, as though seven angry thugs who were not fucking around had recently tore through the place. The hostess says,

"I tell them you went out the dock, they believe me."
Feb 21, 2023 7:36 am
Brett looks at the waitress' battered face. Deep within him his blood begins to boil and all sound in the world is replaced with a cacophony of thousands of boots marching in time on pavement and warriors screaming. The sound grow louder and louder with every heart beat welling up inside him. He thrusts himself in a deep bow before the bruised woman.

"本当にありがとう!"
(Hontouniargatou, a deeply honorific thank you in Japanese)

Mr. Brett stands back up and hands the waitress the remaining money plus a bonus. The maniac then turns to Sergei, his cold blue eyes burn red with violence.
