Menace Under Otari

"That is quite the find there!" Wugruk said looking over the haul in the chest. "What do we think the mechanism behind the chest does?"

Dante's eyes light up with genuine admiration and delight as he looks at Wugruk. "That's very impressive, Wugruk! Good job on the riddle!" He exclaims, his voice filled with genuine enthusiasm. Seeing the treasure inside the chest, his curiosity is picked. He picks up unfurls the parchment, eyes scanning the page, "The words of Abadar, maybe...?"

Wugruk looked over the mechanism, it wasn't a blade, shield, or armor so he was a bit outside of his realm of knowledge, but it was made of metal and if there was on thing that Wugruk knew, it should be metal.

Errich takes a few minutes looking over the mechanism, trying to remember if he's seen it anywhere in his studies.

"Oh sweet! Maybe this will come in handy." Dante says as he recognizes the spell. He tucks the scroll away, looking to see Wugruk and Errich trying to figure out the mechanism. "Maybe we should go see what's in the next room, and it might give us some clues to what this thing does."

Errich whistles in admiration upon seeing the emerald in the box. "Best to keep this safe." and tucks it into an inner pocket.

"Good idea Dante." and heads towards the next room.

"Safe indeed, and I'll stow away these coins for safe keeping" Wugruk said as he emptied the remaining coin into his pouch. "I agree on taking a look in the next room"

"We should try and speak with them, explain that their clan promised to change their ways" Wugruk said to Errich and Dante as quietly as he could so as to not give away their position.

"Dante, you have a way with words, perhaps you should take the lead. Wugruk and I can assist if need be." Errich whispers to the group.

Dante nods and steps up towards the kobolds. "My dear friends," He begins with a disarming smile, "I am Dante Everett, and these are my esteemed companions." His gesture includes Wugruk and Errich. "We have been sent here by the gracious Tamily Tanderveil, the owner of the fishery, to investigate the unfortunate matter of the missing fish. We have already had a productive conversation with some of your kin, and they have willingly agreed to relinquish their thieving ways."

"We come not as adversaries, but as potential allies," He continues warmly. "If you also choose to turn away from this path of theft, we offer our assistance and guidance. We'll teach you the art of fishing, so in the future, you need not resort to such means again. How does that sound?"

Whispering to Dante and Wugruk, "They were expecting us. Tread carefully."
