I thought I'd introduce myself.

I stumbled upon the site last week when I googled He Who Fights Monsters RPG to see if anyone was trying to go full circle and convert the litRPG books to a game.

Sadly, it looks like that game has died a death.

Still, Jason always seems to come back, so who knows?

I've been gaming intermittently since about 1982, with my most recent in-person group still hibernating since lockdowns. I keep poking them, but nothing is happening yet, and I'm getting the itch.

I've tried getting into online games before. Inevitably, it seems to end up with people in North America wanting me to keep unreasonable hours, so PBP might be the way forward.

My preference is generally rules-light and narrative focussed. I'd much rather somersault over the campfire whilst hurling a cooking pot at the snarling face of the goblin rushing at me than hit it with my +2 long sword for the third time.

I could be persuaded to run something once I get a feel for PBP and how it works, and I have many rule books sitting here.

I'm a big fan of Fate, Forged In the Dark, and Cypher System.

I'm also a fan of more esoteric systems like Lame Mage games. I could see something like Microscope or Kingdom working well on PBP.

I also have a soft spot for WFRP, as I'm British.

Plus, having just finished The Wheel of Time on my fourth attempt, and being in possession of The Wheel Of Time RPG, I am toying with the idea of exploring the start of the fourth age.

Finally, I've been playing with a homebrew system for a while now, and I must get around to testing with some players. PBP seems like a good way to do this, as thinking time about rules and how best they might work would work better than with everyone sitting around a table in real-time discussing.

Anyway, that's enough of my blather. Except to say I'm dependable, if I commit to a game, life circumstances notwithstanding, I'll follow it through, and I expect the same from the people I play with.

Greetings and Salutations! Fate is one of my favorite systems. I'm currently running a Fate game that's full up, but I'd love to play in one if you end up running something.

Welcome JKFalkon. There are quite a few Cypher System aficionados here, despite a relative and criminal infrequency of such games. A fair bit of playtesting of original systems occurs here, too.

Hope you find some great games!
