4. Another day, another hike

The group continues to advance, it is more than an hours and a half since the woke up, but walking in a single file in the snow take its toll and they have the impression they are walking fo hours.

The already narrow path up the side of Mount Strumpet thins even further and falls away until it is little more than a stone beam no wider than six inches against the cliffside. It runs for more than fifty feet before the path broadens again to anything even remotely resembling a safe ledge. This narrow crossing, combined with wind and newly fallen snow settling on already slick rock, will not be easy to cross. A few small stones blow down from higher up the mountain and tumble to the jagged rocks more than a hundred feet below.

Wyce looks for any alternate secret passage. He still thinks his Dungeon Delver abilities are going to help him.

They wouldn't have carried all town metal over here. We are on wrong path dwarf agree with Wyce

Did we complete a long rest between the battle that happened and now? Im a little confused.
Apr 20, 2023 7:05 am
OOC:
No, you completed a long rest before the last battle. Since then you just hiked on the snowed cover track that winds up the mountain.

OOC:
What do you do ?

OOC:
I am waiting for DM to narrate result of searcing secret passages. If nothing we obviously have no choice but to continue.
Apr 22, 2023 4:47 pm
OOC:
Oh, I thought you were joking. Searching a secret passage on a snow covered mountain without any trace of a passage, you do not find anything.
Apr 23, 2023 6:03 am
Guess we have no choice but to proceed Nog says getting ready to press on
Apr 23, 2023 1:59 pm
go, go, go. Gimdrus start walking upwards

OOC:
You want to climb a mountain side covered with snow, with a certain death if you slip (which is pretty much certain) ?

I think I may have run out of favors for the residents of Newville. I do not want to walk that path.
Out of frustration I hurl a fire bolt to the wider path beyond the narrow ledge.
That's where we need to be. There must be a safer way to get there.

i agree Nog affirms It is too dangerous to proceed this way. We owe nothing to the News that warrents us risking our lives needlessly. Maybe the elves used some kind of magic to proceed. he then proceeds to ritually cast Detect Magic to find if there is a magic contraption that might help them cross safely.

This might take a while he says as he prepares the ritual But it better than possibly slipping

Actually I did forgot this is a railroaded scenario. We were supposed to the only thing that was possible to do and most probably had to push a button on the
Wendy Doll porcelain doll with a button at the back

Wish you good luck assuming my PC is dead.

OOC:
It's going to be difficult to continue the scenario with 2 players.

Vacationing for a week. May not be able to post often for Wyce.

If that's the only option and DM ok could we undo Gimdrus movement? Let's say he stops when reach path too narrow to continue.
Right. There must be some trick. Gimdrus returns and decide to play with goblin toys while waiting for ritual completion.
He would like to take the small oven and the doll. Put them in front of each other an press the button.

Oh, the roll is not for movement, I did not count you would do something this silly (unless the player confirms the movement after been warned). I just counted Grimdus would evaluate the risk before. So I need the roll, independently of your action.

As a rule if I give you a warning because I think an action may be dangerous or ill advise, the action you do is cancelled unless you confirm it. So do not hesitate to correct your post; but I may consider your character is thinking about it and decide he is looking for such an option.
