Prologue: The Children's Journey

Captain Kidd smiles and sees Grandmother Sophie through the water. "Ah...what powerful and ancient magic you have. Allow me to have a taste of it for myself. " He says hungrily with a dark chuckle in his throat.

A long fleshy proboscis sucker tube slowly comes out of one of his fingers and coming through the bowl where Grandmother Sophie is scrying on Captain Kidd quickly attaches itself to her chest and slowly begins to siphon the magical life essence out of her.

Grandmother Sophie cries out in pain and after a few moments pulls the proboscis out and severs the scrying connection throwing the bowl to the ground shattering it with water splashing on the floor.

Captain Kidd growls after having his meal interrupted but chuckles. "What strong magic that Fey creature had. I feel stronger now. " He said to himself before reeling in his proboscis back inside his body and barked at his men to seek out anything magical for him and find new victims to become a part of their crew and anything else they want. The crew shouts "AYE AYE, CAPTAIN!" Before continuing their prowling in town.

Grandmother Sophie having lost some life essence and magic groaned in pain. In her chest is a large black spot where she was drained from by the pirate with the fierce hungry red eyes.

"Oh, I shouldn't have scryed on him. Captain Kidd saw me and tried to drain the magical life essence out of me like he did to that wizard. He was smiling the whole time he did it too. I'll be ok. I just need some rest. Be careful and stay safe." Grandmother Sophie said before she went to her chambers and shut the door behind her.

Once everyone finishes up with breakfast, you all go get chores done while Ollie and Grandmother Sophie are resting. Once you finish your chores, what do you all decide to do after that? @Eyes,@Seck . It is only 11:30 in the morning now and lunch isn't for 2 hours which you will have to fix yourself today. So you all have time to yourself before and after lunch.

"Grandmother Sophie has been attacked by a life drain spell that drains both life and magic. She requires a long rest to regain her health back as Captain Kidd drained her of half of her health (50 hp). Usually life drain attacks drains users of their Max HP which requires a lesser or greater restoration spell to heal it back but this was a magical life drain attack that attacks like a stirge drain attack. She'll be ok after a long rest. " The DM voice in the sky tells Flora.
