Sorry if I am being pushy. I was trying to give everyone a turn since we post every chance we get to. I'll stay patient though. Sorry about that

Will post more tomorrow. Logged in to a place with wifi cuz I'm without power right now due to a tornado that was in my area last night. My family and I are safe and ok. So I'll do my next post later.

Oh no! Glad you are safe!

Yep. Our power finally came back on like an hour ago after being without it all day but everything in the fridge is ruined and stuff now. So will def get back to the game tomorrow. Tornado passed over my house but it took out houses and businesses and stuff a few miles down the road. I'm just glad that we are all safe.

Me too! I hate tornados. Moved out of the alley but we still get them pretty regular

Well I live in the country out in the woods in middle Tennessee so I lived close to the small town that got destroyed down there. But our main road has been shut down and we have had to get wristbands to get back to our house down there anyway. I'm just looking forward to when it's a regular road again.

Wow the town is destroyed. Wristbands to get home That’s so wild! I’m glad your family is alright.
Apr 3, 2023 2:38 am
Yep. We're all good, my mom dad and I since we all live together as my sister lives in the city where MTSU is which is only 30 minutes away from where we live. But the town near us lost the historic readyville mill and a general store near it, tons of houses and a wedding venue that was close to the post office. I don't even know if the post office down there is still standing but I'm looking forward to when our road gets back to normal.

Awesome job everyone! Btw, I'm creating a homebrew Deck of many things. Those are the cards Grandmother Sophie is referring to that is in her Storm cellar that is a dungeon.

Btw it's your turn to post. 😁 I'll stay patient.

Amber can you make sure I am calculating the Observant human variant feature correctly. I read it again and it seems like Tink would get another +5 bonus to investigation on top of the +5 he already has. That seems like A LOT.

For investigation he get +3 for his intelligence attribute and then investigation is the skill I picked for his proficiency bonus. So that would be +2 more. Then if the observant feat gives another +5, that's +10 total...WOWZA.

@seck I believe that feat adds for "Passive" roles.
10+wisdom bonus+Prof bonus = base passive perception, then add your +5. You would not add the perception skill - You also wouldnt get a roll. it is what it is

Oh right 'passive'. Of course. The description threw me because it mentions investigation. But I see, yes, it says 'passive' intelligence (investigation).

That's funny. I don't know how one investigates passively. I think that is covered by passive perception.

passive investigation can be a tricky intepretation but I think i got that figured out...
Investigation helps you to put together clues...that others would miss, like the butler is left handed, or his shirt looks cheap but its acutally well made...Things you notice without trying.

I have a druid in another game with a passive 19 and a +9, I took prodigy feat and made perception an expertise. plus high wisdom cuz he's a druid. my dm in that game doesn't use passive anything so it's super important to succeed when he says roll perception

I think passive investigation is the least understood skill. Passive perception is easier to understand... you notice something... one way to put it is passive perception allows you to see the notice clock, Passive investigation notices the clock has stopped, and active investigation allows you to see thats it has stopped because it is broken.

That makes sense

might be something to discuss with the DM, how she uses passive perception/investigatation. Depending, it might be better to get another feat... I took an oddball feat keen mind but im hoping to make creative use of it.
