Yeah, in any case I’ll keep observant feat because I’ll make good role playing use of it too. I figure that’s how tink figures things out and becomes a better artificer over time even without (potentially) a formal mentor and formal training.

Well put. I think all the passive skills get overlooked most of the time because it's difficult to use in person. also it's just something else to have to keep track of as the dm

I think of it as Sherlock Holmes like... he notices details that might be relevant that others miss...he then uses those details to solve a crime....another example would be everyone see's the Bum....but holmes notices the bum has nice shoes....hmmmm strange....He wasnt looking specifically at the bum...he is just keen on details.

The observant feat is fine and I feel like investigation is like how a detective discovers clues and stuff. Perception is what you currently see in the area. Insight is how you can discover a person's true nature too. I feel like those are the most used checks people make besides survival, arcana and history. Deception is if you are trying to lie and stuff too .

I had y'all roll perception cuz I wanted you all to roll and what you got is what you see in the room. There are 9 floors in the cellar and you are only on the first floor.

Btw, haven't got a chance to work on Floras character sheet yet so going to work on it on Friday.

Still pretty good. I can't wait to see what happens next. Crazy Flora grabbed the deck of many things though.

Hey. Just wanted to let y'all know that I won't be on this weekend due to it being Easter weekend so I'll be back to posting on Monday but I hope you guys are having fun besides the cauldron attack.

Grandmother Sophie is offering to train you all to fight and do magic and stuff though so it will be a good chance to learn new skills and more.

This weekend will give me a chance to work on Floras character sheet too. So see everyone on Monday.

If you want. I can get a new player. It'd be His first game on gp.

So, we have been at this for quite a while now and are still lv 0. I know this was supposed to be a 0-20 campaign. Do you have an idea on how quickly you plan to move throug the levels? Personally im finding it tough to play a kid and would like to move on with some adventure.

The training is going to take 6 months to get everyone to level 1 and then you guys can try again in the cellar again.

If y'all want to do a time skip so everyone can get to level 1, please let me know.

It is only the 2nd day of Summer cuz it is May in the game right now so it'll be October in game time when your training is finished because you are basically spending the Summer with Grandmother Sophie and Flora right now.

This is my first time running a campaign like this where you play as kids to adults from 0 to 20 but I could time skip the 6 months to get everyone to level 1 if you guys want me to, just let me know. I'm sorry that the game is slow for everyone. I got the inspiration for this from the Worlds beyond numbers dnd game but I don't know how they did it from kids at level 0 until they became adults at level 1 but I think they did a time skip after the kids adventure.

And the animated cauldron was a homebrew creature I found online so it was kind of tough anyway and I have Tome of monsters 2 from kobold press that I am going to throw at you too. So this is a homebrew dnd 5e game.

I haven't had time to work on Floras character sheet yet cuz I've been busy but Friday I am going to work on it, I promise. Just wish I knew what her original stats were and stuff cuz I know she is going to go warlock with the archfey patron.

I wouldnt spin your wheels too much on her character. Shes essentially an npc. Unless you create detsiled character sheets for all your npcs.

It’s okay about Flora. She has been in the story despite not having a character sheet. (Although as GM can you access the character sheet that Svande submitted?)

Also, I don’t mind jumping ahead 6 months at all. I think our characters have had a pretty good chance to develop a bit and interact as newcomers to Grandma Sophie’s place and rules. I would welcome moving on.

I can check and ok cool. We'll do a 6 months time skip then if everyone is ok with it. That will be my next post then.

When Svande left the game, the character did too so am not able to see it anymore so will have to create her character from scratch and just make her character sheet at level 1 later.

oh that's too bad about Flora's character sheet.
