Hello everyone! I have decided to GM an adventure in the system I wrote a few years back. The system is a completely unofficial rule system made for adventuring in the Discworld universe, as imagined by Sir Terry Pratchett. We will also be using the supplements that I've made for the game expanding on the magic rules, the GM rules, and the Character build guides. They are all linked from the main project page.
TONE: What I want to do is have a session zero chat where we collectively define the tone and the focus of the upcoming adventure. I want you as a player to be cocreating the starting position with me.
The character creation: You will be able to play any type of humanoid that exists in the Discworld universe, besides elves. "Elves are terrific. They beget terror."
Game Duration and Post Frequency: As the GM I commit to posting at least once per day. As players, you would be expected to post reactions at least every other day in order to be considered still playing. So not every prompt needs to be responded to by everyone. However I would like to know that people are reading each day. The duration of the game would be discussed in the "session zero" subforum.
Do I have to know Discworld by heart to play? The game is open to anyone, but it could be good to have some base knowledge about the Discworld universe; having read a book, having seen a movie, or played an adventure game are all sufficient. I am personally (without feeling like I am tooting my own horn) very well-read and in tune with the material, so I can introduce during the game to some degree.
Application process: The game is first come first served. If you wanna play, I wanna play.
I follow a strict policy of not accepting any hate speech or bigotry. I am a queer anarchist myself, and I want to have a "table" that is inclusive in all ways.
