What sort of prompts are you all using for your portraits? I've tried ai generators and been unimpressed with the results.

I just use good old Google and then use a sketch app to turn the pic into something more old school looking.

I got Monaghan with "Dwarf, male, age 30, brown hair, mustache, carrying bastard sword, smoking pipe, burly, strong, character porttrait, larry elmore, d&d, dungeons & dragons". It didn't pick up on quite everything, but I was really pleased with rhe result.
I think one of the best tips is to include an artist's name whose style you want to emulate, as long as they're of enough notoriety that the app will recognize them.

I use DeviantArt and sometimes Pinterest, but lately I've been wondering whether that's "stealing" someone else's art. Would it be enough to credit the artist somewhere? Otherwise maybe I should switch to AI art as well.

I don't really look at it that way as long as you're not trying to use it in a product without attribution or passing it off as your own work. But hey, follow your conscience.

I guess you could always contact the artist and ask them if they're ok with using their art for a RPG avatar.

There's always that, but I suppose I can't cause any harm if I'm just using the art personally. In that case, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.

I've commissioned lots of art over the years, mined DA and Pinterest, and recently I've been getting decent results with Midjourney. Will still commission work in certain cases, though.

Some of you know this from other games, but I'm an avid backpacker on the weekends. And it's finally good weather! I'll be back tomorrow night.

In addition to the various magical means of restoring hit points, a character recovers naturally at the rate of 1 hit point per day of uninterrupted rest. Four weeks of rest will return a character to full hit points regardless of how many hit points may have been lost.
What is uninterrupted rest? The rest I took after my watch? A full 24 hours?

Uninterrupted rest is a day and a night of just chilling, listening to some Enya, and eating as many chickens as you can. Quite often travel will not count as rest, since you're still walking, but it's been two days of following a road. Ryenne is back to full.

First, critical hits mean that you auto-hit the target. You may end up doing four damage to a dragon, but that doesn't mean the dragon cares about four damage. I don't do any max damage or anything, it's just a hit. It's lucky.
Second, feel free to edit your last posts to add rolls, but make sure to uncheck "this is a minor edit". Unchecking that note will make it pop up as a new message, which lets me know you made an edit. Don't go ham on the edits.

All, I made an oops! I definitely misunderstood the outdoor combat rules, and you should have absolutely been able to reach Vortigern in one round. Let's just continue from here instead of making all sorts of retcons.
