Hey y'all!
I'm Rizado (the Spanish word for "curly," and an online moniker I adopted in college, where I studied Spanish and incidentally had some really wild hair). Despite throwing around some very familiar banter in the recruitment thread, I'm brand new to GP (started in early April). I've actually played and run shockingly little of anything, considering how much online TTRPG content I consume.
A buddy introduced me to 5e in college, but an ex and a tutoring gig kept me too busy to continue playing in their campaign, which lasted all throughout our university careers. It's probably one of my biggest regrets that I didn't make time for gaming when I was around so many like-minded friends. My character in that game, though he didn't see much action, was Tobias Spindleshanks, a half-elf paladin. He still has a special place in my heart for being part of my introduction to the hobby.
After that, I lurked for a long time in the online community devouring videos, and got interested in GMing after watching Matt Colville's Running the Game series. I've run a couple short-lived remote 5e games for those same college pals since then, but actually haven't been a player in another game until joining GP.
Lately I've gotten really into the OSR, and have started a West Marches game here on GP that runs on Old School Essentials, definitely the system I've spent the most time with; however, there are tons of games out there I want to get around to reading and running at some point, with special mention to The Black Hack, Knave, and Into the Odd. I've also recently started an in-person 5e game for some family friends and their kids. So, it's fair to say I'm more active as a GM and player now than ever, by an order of magnitude. It's awesome!
As far as this game goes, looks like I'm filling out a (Dwarf) Fighter slot.
