Ari conjures illusion of air movement, pretending they are summoning the powers of the wind to aid them gently land on the real, yes, real! stone. As they steps on the stony surface, their clothes and hair wave violently as if the elemental forces were released. "Ah... I always liked some elemental wizardry. Maybe that's what is going on here?" Ari pretends to be saying some useful just to disguise the fact that no wizardry really happened...

Once stable on the next rock, Ari completely ignores Alakassandra's pioneering effort in solving the stone finger puzzle and turns to support Hooligander's totally not original idea! "Yes! This is probably a carnival challenge!"

There are three fingers standing, and a 50/50 chance of a slightly rude sign next round followed by a 50/50 chance of a very rude sign the round after...

What do you do?

"Maybe we have to make a rude gesture! Give the judge's the bird so to speak!" Hooligander nods to his own convincing words. "Who would like the honors to complete our project?"

"I could do it," Alaks replies, pointing at the heavy rock she would throw for that purpose."But I'm happy to let someone else take a shot. Not that I'm having any problems with magic. I could throw spells around all day, but, you know, others can try something as well."

Shakes her head sadly. I am terrible at move stuff spells.

- Abigail -

You suspect that you also have to move people over to the next stone where Ari is.

Most of the stones are not large enough for everyone to stand on at one time, so you can decide if you want to be among the first to hop over there --and how, but that one seems fairly close. Then someone will have to find and move to the next-next one before the others can come over.

What do you do?

I think we need to do this in a certain order. Some of us should go to the close stone, then when its moved, we can go on to the next.
She straightens and jumps to the stone where Ari waits
May 13, 2023 1:32 pm
Paying half attention to the discussion as they were trying to not fail the jump, Ari turns to Hooligander "Oh yes! Abigail is very good with birds! She is definitely be able to give one or two to the judges!" they turn to Abigail as she jumps next to them. "you still know that Summon bird spell, don’t you?"

Of course!
*waves her Wand and does something to summon birds

Abby waves her arms and shouts Expecting Bird-tromus there is a bright flash, followed by a single bird landing on her shoulder before inflating and then exploding like that singing scene in Shrek. Only less cute. CoverEd in bird guts and feathers she sits down on the rock. I think maybe i should avoid avian adjacent magic going forward

"Was that from Harry Potter?" One of the judges asks another. They are watching closely for any more non-Wizard shenanigans.
May 14, 2023 1:21 pm
"Well, in that case, I guess I'll just throw the next rock?" Alakassandra suggests. Everyone has cleared off from it now (OOC: I think), so Alaks jumps over to it and stands on the ground right next to it as she shouts: "Strength-enhancement spell, go!", then tries to pull it out of the ground and throw it at the next finger in order to flip the bird, as Ari said.

"ewwwww. Have you been studying necromancy?" Ari looks disgusted at Abigail. The woman did always look a bit dark, but necromancy? Is that even allowed?

- Alakassandra -

That stepping stone was nearly as tall as some of your party members, and --like most stones-- made of stone. The next ones are even taller. That one you just threw may be the last one that you could conceivably get a grip on, let alone throw through the air.

It sails though the air --with appreciative oohs and aahs from the audience and judges alike-- and strikes a finger. The ground beneath your feet grinds and groans again, whatever is going to happen is about to happen.

Separate from that: The grass stalks on the ground you are standing on start to wind themselves around you feet. You probably have moments to get to a safe rock... but there is no space on the next rock along where your companions are [ref].

What do you do?

There are only two fingers remaining upright. As you moved the ones you have moved you all felt the arena react. This is definitely doing something, hopefully it is what you want.
You are all crammed onto a stepping stone that is not actually large enough for the whole party [ref]. There is danger of someone falling off onto the ground that seems intent on eating you.

You don't yet know which of the 'next' stones is real, and Alakassandra has burned your bridges... um, removed the known-safe stepping stones from behind you.

What do you do?
May 16, 2023 12:05 pm
"Make some room over there!" Alaks demands from the whole group crowded on the single stepping stone. Noticing the grass beginning to wind itself around her legs, she decides to be a proper wizard and cast a real spell. She speaks the incantation extra dramatically and then casts Shield at her feet. Even in the best case scenario it won't protect her for long, but maybe long enough for the others to figure out how to make some room for her.

- Alakassandra -

The judges nod approvingly. In their view, that is Definitely Wizard's magic and they can all understand what you are doing.

You have bought yourself a few moments while the others make a plan and make space.
May 17, 2023 8:30 am
As Alakassandra mentions making space for her... spacious muscle volume, Ari decides to stare at one of the other rocks, trying to see through it, or waiting for someone else to confirm it's real.
OOC:
going with slime and conjure a ball of goop on top of the next rock before jumping. My Wizard is now 6! I'm about to explode wildly :D
