Your handfulls of goop pass through first few stones you throw them at, but then --fortunately before you run out-- splat into the top of one that is real. Hopefully it does not leave the surface too slippery when people jump to it.

That stone is chest-height, but only wide enough for one person at a time, or maybe two if they are prepared to be rather intimate. If the ground weren't shaking so, you may have been able to try balance one or two more on it.

The air around you also crackles with pent up energy and you will need to release it before you can attempt any more Wizard spells.

What do you do?

- Abigail -

Your familiar passed right through the first stone you try and is briefly engulfed by the something below it.. possibly the earth? It is hard to tell as your view is blocked by the stone-illusion.

It is not lost forever, but you will need to do something to free and retrieve it.

Ari turns back to the others, sharing their discovery. "That one seems safe. aaa, Hoo...ligander, would you like to try that?" wink wink

Hooligander nods. "Yes, indeed! Who better to do it, right my dear Ari?" Hooligander takes a leap to the hopefully safe stone.

Do you need any help getting across the gap to the next stone? Maybe Ari can help? Do you use magic?

Abby will call the spirit out of the metal and back to her, if that works. it will now look like a shadowy ghostly raven. she will wave her Wand and say "spirit return"
as it is a nature spirit that should be covered by druid magic
she looks panicked when it vanishes.

It could have been worse. You can still sense your familiar in there, panicked but mostly-unharmed. Whatever is in that trap is clearly more risky than the ones that just hurt you or make your boots smoke, it seems to completely cancel out your spell and nothing happens.

Avoid that one..its extra dangerous she takes off her hat. Can anyone else get Edgar out? my spells are being cancelled

OOC:
Ok guys, I'm gonna risk everything now!
Ari looks axiously as Hooligander jumps to the next stone. dear Ari? what does he mean by... dear?. They blush and completely ignore what is going on until Abigail "nagging" gets their attention back to the exam. "What is wrong with Edgar now?"
OOC:
Going to conjure some sort of illusionist hat to teleport the rabbit Edgar through it, accidentally and in uncontrollably magic ways :D

With a pop the familiar is sucked though the 'hat' and flutter over to Abigail, the build-up of energy around you rushes out in the other direction.

The audience is enthused by your showmanship --though some look askance at the 'disappointing rabbit'-- but the judges are more critical of how much this looked like the wrong sort of magic.

What do you do?

Ari jumps dramatically to the next rock, pretending everything is wizardly about the hat and the "rabbit"

Abigail whispers calming words to Edgar before moving on

Hooligander lands on the rock with just a touch of wobbling in his landing. When Ari jumps he scrunches up to make space but also holds his arms out to catch her. There isn't much space on the rock so they have to share some of the same space!

"aaa... thanks" Ari barely manages to say with a weird half hidden smile as Hooligander catches them, awkwardness all over as they try not to blush... too much.

- Ari and Hooligander -

The stone you stand on is still slippery from the testing-goop, it is also high enough that falling could cause injury even if the ground does not try to eat you.

If you huddle together on the non-gooped edge you should be able to avoid slipping, but you will definitely be right up in each other's space.

Alakassandra is on the dangerous ground, the shield Spell will not last much longer. Abigail is on the rock recently vacated by Ari and Hooligander, within jumping distance of those two, but also withing jumping distance of a few other, untested, stepping stones. There is room on Abigail's pillar.

Ari and Hooligander are the closest to the two remaining erect stone fingers. Closing them has definitely had some effect on the arena, but you still don't know if that is a positive or negative one.

Which fingers remain?

OOC:
That next stone where Abigail is is too big to throw, right?
Once Ari and Hooli have made room for her, Alaks jumps over to the next stone to get away from the vines slapping at her shield. She leans in to Abigail and asks, "Want me to toss you? I mean, use a flight spell on you. I could get you over to those stone fingers, probably."

Hooligander slips a bit on the goop but catches himself before tragedy strikes. With not much space, he scrunches up against Ari. "Just temporary, think nothing of it. Dire circumstances, and all that," he says in a gruffly apologetic way to cover any nervousness. Two fingers left. One finger must be the key. It had to be the middle one. "Ari, I think we need to knock down one more finger to give the wizards the bird. Any ideas?"
May 23, 2023 9:30 am
I suppose, dont we want to leave one up though?
May 24, 2023 9:53 am
OOC:
I need to get that Wizard back up because I need high changes of not messing up next! I'm so going to loose the game soon xD
Even though Ari finds themselves in a particularly... uncomfortable situation, they decide to try something after being prompted by Hooligander. "Aaaa yes, I think maybe, we can, I can... use some magic to jump over ... there. On the finger? I can operate it if I'm close enough... maybe?"

Ari get ready to jump babbling some arcane non-sense and then shouting very loudly "Don't fall speeeeeelllll"
OOC:
I'll try to slow fall on the fingers, assuming if I'm nearby I can just pull them up and down like levers instead of having to throw things
