Exam: Chamber 2 (RP)

It's pretty risky, but Alaks decides that the best way to get over to the Hand is the same way Ari did it (and that also killed Hooligander, but let's not think about that part), so she jumps over to the rock where that all happened and searches it until she finds a second, so far unexploded Thunderstone. "It seems Hooligander left some of his magical essence behind!" she announces loudly. "I will use a tap-into-magical-essence-spell to recreate his last spell and get myself over to that hand."

She takes the thunderstone in her hand, braces herself and then, speaking a nonsense magical formula, hits the stone against the rock she's standing on, hoping that she's tough enough to resist the blast.

We need to get to the dome....I am not...athletic, but i can try if you provide a distraction

Ari looks at Alakssandra performance and then turns to Abigal "I think the mighty wizard is on it already"... obviously, they just wait to see what happens... wondering what Alaks meant about Hooligander's essence. It couldn't have died because the exams are not deadly right? Yeah, right. A lot of denial going on ...

Abby Nods and eagerly watches what happens.

"tap-into-magical-essence-spell?" One of the judges says. "Sounds useful. I must look that one up later." But they seem to believe it for now, and anyway you don't hear it, because...

The explosion is tremendous! Either it is suped up by the magic permeating the zone, or your departed collector did not know what they had picked up. A weaker person's bones would break from the force of the rocket-jump if they were not lightened or as tough as you are.

As you soar towards the hand at speed with clothes flaming, a combination of the explosion, your approach, and Ari's nonthreatening passivity cause the hand to orient towards you, ready to fight. It is expecting a weakling wizard, though, so it may be in for a surprise?

What do you do?

As Alaks is flying towards the hand, she repositions herself in the air, turning herself into a weapon as she flies towards the grasping hand. There may be no way to disguise what she's doing, but she's putting all her muscle magic into this attack, trying to ram her body into the hand like a cannonball. Even if that doesn't destroy it, that should probably daze it enough for Abby to do whatever it is she's planning to do.
OOC:
Wild Magic for a full attack, which I don't think I can disguise at this point, so that should put me at 6 Wild

OOC:
I don't have the rules with me now, but I think we can disguise it for you but helping distracting the judges! Sounds like a job for me if that is true :D

"Time for some stage magic!" Ari says as they do some random flashy movements "Sparkly sparkles!" They say as they stop and point at the stone hand, confetti and sparkles blowing out from everywhere to obscure Alakassandra's position

While this is happening Abby attempts a run to through the safest looking path to get to the dome

Ari's sparkles cause the hand to try to split its attention again, only half paying attention to Alaks' approach. It seems it barely has the focus to track two, and may be blind to a third assailant.

"Stage magic?!" One of the judges says, sounding scandalised.
Alaks slams into the stone hand like an irresistible force meeting an immovable object. It appears the object --unable to move-- must break, and the for the third time today bits of stone fly into the air. The hand tries to reform and push back and squash the irritating 'gnat', but is struggling with the sheer, unadulterated, physicality of the assault.

"What is she doing? Just attaching it?" One judge asks another, making a note.
Abby is able to skip from stone to stone to the base of the red dome. Bits of stone patter around her, and ping off the dome, not penetrating it at all. Inside there appears to be... furniture? Definitely a table or desk, but with nothing obvious on it visible through the obscuring dome surface. This field feels different to the one from before. It might not be as easy to get past.

What do you do?
OOC:
Alaks' overt use of pure muscle, and Ari's overt use of not-really-'magic' stage magic put both of them at 6 Wild.

If Abby is listening to the judges commentary at all she will know that the team is on thin ice. It is up to her to maintain (or shatter) the ruse of your Definitely being Wizards...
Jun 23, 2023 6:09 pm
As Alaks pushes herself back to her feet and wipes the stone dust off her muscular arms, she throws her hair back and declares, "Guess I handled that problem for you."

- Alakassandra -

The hand is not done, it still tries to fondle you, in an aggressive way. But you have it on the back-foot --so to speak-- and, for now, it is unaware of Abby down beside the dome by its wrist. You can keep up the fight at this intensity and give her time to do whatever she is doing.
OOC:
If all goes well with Abby you won't need to roll again just yet.

It is definitely a desk inside, on its top lay sheaves of papers and a few quill pens. Very fancy and old looking, but not useful to you here on the outside.

Abby waves a hand and stirs up a wind trying to move the papers to a readable position

"You guys ok?" Ari asks, mostly hoping they don't need them. "Any spell support you need?"
Jun 26, 2023 11:36 am
We need to get in, im not sure how to take down the shield though.... pauses wondering if it is super simple and spreads her fingers and pushes an open palm against the forcefield.
Jun 26, 2023 12:05 pm
"Oh remember the shield spell I used before?" Ari shout loudly to make the point that they used a real spell before making up a new one "Maybe you need to use the reverse of that. Like anti-shield? Sort of inverse the magic energies type of..." Ok, that's probably enough before they say something magically stupid.
Jun 26, 2023 12:09 pm
"Or maybe it needs just any kind of wizard-y spell to prove that you're a wizard," Alaks points out. "But whatever the solution is, just do it, because this hand is looking kind of agry!" She wasn't sure how a hand, which - like most hands - didn't have a face, could look angry, but this one managed.
