Thanks for your interest in SW: KoToR! This game focuses on collaboratively telling the stories of our characters during the Old Republic era. We will choose from a set of mission options, play through it, then rinse and repeat. Some missions will progress the main story, others are side quests.

There will be some light progression elements in the form of leveling up and gaining new Force or lightsaber abilities, but no other math or mechanics. Additionally, we don’t need to adhere strictly to SW lore, as long as creative liberties are still reasonable for the Star Wars universe. We're all here to create characters we want to play and have fun playing them.

Beta: This is a custom, highly atypical roleplay format and there will be some roughness in the experience. Please be patient with me as we iron out the kinks. Any feedback would also be greatly appreciated!

Commitment
Please post at least 2-3 times a week.

The game is structured so that each mission is a stand-alone adventure. We start in the Jedi Temple, play the mission, then return to the Temple. This gives players flexibility to drop in and out between missions and will also let me adjust gameplay/systems based on feedback. However, I do request that if you choose to start a mission please stay until it’s completed.

-All are welcome. This game strives for inclusivity and welcomes LGBTIQA+, minorities, and marginalized groups.
-Would prefer players who enjoy collaborative storytelling more than min/maxing stats or rolling dice.
-Experienced players would be helpful because I'm also looking for feedback that will improve the game. However, we can learn together if need be. =]

Is this set before the first jedi Civil war?

Yes, it's before the events in Bioware's KoToR (Revan/Malik) games.

I'm tempted by my curiosity for the system, but I don't really know the Old Republic setting well enough to play in it, especially in such a collaborative game. And weekly posting is too slow for me.

I'm interested as I would like to play a jedi adventure, but once a week is way too slow for me as well. 5 posts per week is the desired pace

I'm always down for a long haul. I always find the Jedi Civil War period to be the most fascinating because the Force seems more alive during that period.

I would play I think as a Guardian who had Mastered the Basics of Juyo and Precognition. Not unlike Paul Atreidies of the Dune series. If two seconds of prescience were good enough for him they'll be good enough for me.

I played and loved the old KOTOR videogames. They had a few very memorable moments and characters. They're creating a remake at the moment which is very cool. I would love to replay it in modern-day graphics.

So I'm quite interested. I was thinking about a Cathar who still has its instinctual hunting mindset. A rash and quick-thinking Jedi who excels at survival and hunting, but whose eagerness can land it in trouble, while its fighting style is poor against multiple opponents. It would have learned Force Speed to enhance its physical abilities and learned the aggressive Ataru lightsaber combat form, believing that the hunter is always on the offensive.

Thanks for the interest Joms and Khulod (and everyone who responded)! I think three is good enough to start. I'll get stuff set up in the next week or so.

@runekyndig: I think I can up the pace to 2-3 posts a week, but more than that is a tough commitment for me at the moment. Hopefully, I can get the drop in drop out format going and reach out again if I get more time to go faster.

In the meantime, looking for 1-2 more if anyone is interested!

I wouldn't worry too much about role balance in the party. Recommend playing a character you're excited to play. =]

If it's as cinematic as it sounds role is more determined by narrative direction than any choice we make.

At least if I'm reading it correctly you want us to cowrote a screenplay more than play a role playing game. Have I got that right?

Yes, exactly. You'll primary write your own characters, and I'll fill in any NPC or narrator action/dialogue to help guide the story along and keep things interesting as needed. If I'm not needed, I'll happily get out of the way. =]

I'll have a springboard to start us off and general framework for the story, but will pivot and adapt to whatever direction your characters take it. I imagine it will be much more collaborative than a traditional tabletop campaign.

So in terms of collaboration. I like to "chew the scenery". In the real world I am an Actor and I play the Stanislavski Method as best I am able. I think I'll be playing myself playing a jedi knight.

Game is *mostly* (still working on a few things) set up and everyone who expressed interest should have gotten invites. Forums are also public, as requested.

Also, apologies for any noobness in the formatting. Still working on learning this platform.

If this is still open I would love to get in on this game. Star Wars is a favorite universe of mine. It sounds like it'd be a fun game.
