I think it's really up to you. If you go rogue we could be a mobile strike team style party. If you go Fighter then we can pop in and out of the fight to back up the central tank

I think I'll do Rogue. Kinda what I was imagining reading the game details. An owlin rogue flying silently through the battlefield. Makes us a fast making strike team. I like that.

Rogue sounds good.

I'm always kinda drawn to relatively self-sufficient skill monkeys... I'll probably make sort of a face build with some of the skills, then flesh out with Perception, Arcana, and Stealth, maybe something else depending.

@monstersaurus90 I don't see Eladrin mentioned on the list of races. Is that an option?

Technically they are elves, so yes.

Eladrin is a type of elf, which is allowed, so... maybe?

Yeah...but from the Feywild. Shadar-kai are listed as Outsiders so I just wanted to verify before moving forward.

I have been looking into my character a bit more. I am planning to go Storm Sorcerer from a harbor town like Haven (if that a harbor? It doesn't specifically say so, but I have a harbor vibe with it), Harwick or Sea Way. She will be a sorcerer focussed on wind, water, lightning and thunder.

Either Var. Human or Half-Elf. I am still debating her personality a bit.

She'll either be physically or mentally very weak. Having rolled 6 points below standard array I need to create two dump stats and reflect them in the RP. So I need to figure out if I go drop STR and CON or INT and WIS, for only these combinations make sense to me. Alternative is to balance out everything and have a terrible main stat.

For the bonus starter feats Elemental Adept seems nice due to the theme of my charater.
Then probably a half-elf to fix up the stats. Are the half-elf variant races from Sword Coast a thing? I could imagine the aquatic half-elf could be interesting. Not sure yet. Var Human could be fun for more meta-magic options with the feat.

Any suggested deadlines?
Addition: based on the statline I might decide to take a wizard instead of a sorcerer.
They take a similar role in the group, but a high INT, low WIS and low CHA wizard is a certain archetype that might be a bit easier to play.
Still looking primarily at storm sorcerer.

Well, if it's any help, you might consider averaging out your stats some and starting with a slightly lower main stat then boosting your casting stat with ASIs?

That way you don't have two dump stats at least.

So glad you mentioned the extra feat. I totally forgot.

No specific deadlines. Still working out a few works building tweaks so you have some time.

You will start with your starting gear only at this point.

Ok, for background... can I take Quandrix Student? We can reskin it if you'd like. I'm just trying to round out my base some, and it's a pretty good fit for what I had in mind for my character.

Eh, it just grants you extra spells. I'm not too worried about the flavor. Just don't make references to the college or anything.

I was thinking calling it self-study, since originally magic was book learning. Trying to expand his magical abilities the old way, so as not to be wholly reliant on his Patron.

It’s still partially book learning, but a good amount of word of mouth too. But that sounds good.

I'll add that I'm planning to pick up some Paladin at some point. Not entirely set on which oath yet, but it's gonna happen.

(Unless our GM says no multiclassing of course. Lol)

MC is fine by me. Let me know exactly what you want, 2 levels before so I can start working it into the story.

Was tentatively planning to look at Paladin as my next level... do we want to work the impetus into his backstory? Or handle it in-game?

I figured I'd have time to settle on my oath, but maybe I need to make that call ASAP.

EDIT: I can take Oath of Vengeance.
