Point Buy, Standard Array, 4d6, or 24d6 drop the lowest 6

Any of the races mentioned in the description is good. Any WOTC official class is fine.

Starting at level 3.

That's exactly how it works!

Forgot to mention, you make take one of the following feats for free during creation: Athlete, Charger, Chef, Elemental Adept, Fighting initiate, Healer, Keen Mind, Mobile, Prodigy, Tavern Brawler, or Weapon Master.

I feel like the Strixhaven backgrounds probably don't fit?

Maybe not directly, but if there is something you are set on, we can make it work.

Also, keep an eye out on the homebrew rules forum.

Just debating backgrounds currently, but more cantrips and one more spell are always nice for a caster.

Oh, as for classes:
I feel this setting would be great for a sorcerer, so that is what I would like to play. I shall develop my character ASAP.

Not quite as high as Autom, but close. Now class?? That I'll have to think about. So we got a sorcerer and hexblade so far. Question about hexblade since I don't have experience with them, are they front liners, or squishy damage dealers or something else?

Hexblades can be a lot of things. When. I play them they are usually back-up front line fighters. They can get good AC, and some self healing. Just depends on the build.

Hexblades are a gish. They're one of the builds that combines swords with sorcery.

That being said, they're pretty versatile and can spec into a variety of builds. What pact you take plays a part as well. You can be a blaster with Eldritch Blast, a bowman with Improved Pact Weapon, focus on melee, or use Warlock to flesh out another class.

I guess it's worth asking, are we sticking to starting gear or do we get a little leeway?

I was suffering decision paralysis, but I am now thinking Wildfire Druid.

I do not mind being the party healer.

I always suffer from decision paralysis on characters lol, but seeing we have sorcerer, warlock, and druid/healer, a tank would be a good hole to fill. I think I'll look at fighter subclasses. Or would we need a rogue more?
