Hello everyone, I found this site through the pbp sub reddit. I've been playing pbp games for over a decade and actually like them better than sitting around a tabletop in real life. I tend to really tense up and not be able to rp that great in that type of situation so pbp is a godsend to me.

I'm male, though I prefer playing female characters, I'm 45 years old and live in the Eastern United States. My older brothers taught me to roleplay when I was 12 years old, a not too liked system called Palladium Books, the Heroes Unlimited revised game specifically. I still do love Palladium Books system, though I understand it's not the easiest system to play, especially on pbp. Anyway, I look forward to roleplaying with you,

later,

Wulfman.

Since our Welcome Wagoneer may be asleep, I'll post her usual greeting. I highly recommend jumping into the GamersPlane DISCORD channel. We don't play there but it's a great way to get to know the community.

Welcome to the community, Wulfman! And I think you'll find the various Palladium games were actually pretty common means of entry for people into the hobby in the 80s and early 90s.

Greetings and Salutations Wulfman. I don't know that I'd be interested in playing anything by Palladium these days, but I had a lot of fun with their work back in the day myself, and Rifts especially is one of my favorite settings to hack.

Welcome to the community, wulfman! I, too, started with Palladium, but it was TMNT and Other Strangeness for me. We made a bunch of characters in Heroes Unlimited, but never actually played the game. I hope you find some great games to play in here on GP, whatever the system!

TMNT and Other Strangeness was really fun as well. Though Nightbane, back then known as Nightspawn, is my favorite setting from Palladium Books. The turning into monsters and fighting other monsters is fun, but I really liked that it was a secret war that was going on. John Q. Public had no idea this was going on in the world, only that the world had reverted back to the technology of the 80's early 90's.

Thanks everyone for the welcome to the site.

There are a couple game systems actually. I've played a tiny bit of the World of Darkness. The Werewolf: The Apocalypse game I was in started and went fine for a couple weeks then fizzled out. So with Werewolves being my favorite supernatural creature, I'd like to give that game another try. Secondly, well actually first before Werewolf would be the Buffy the Vampire Slayer game by Eden studios. This was my favorite tv show of all time and I am still obsessed with the BTVS universe. Lastly at the moment would be Star Trek: Adventures. Star Trek: The Next Generation is my second favorite tv show of all time, so playing in that universe would be awesome as well.

That's all I can think of for now, thanks again for the warm welcome everyone.

Excellent taste in television. Now I'm imaging a crossover, where slayers and vampires still exist in the 24th century.

That'd be something to see for sure. I have read a couple of crossover stories where Buffy has ended up in the 24th century. Even the Buffybot as well. It was a pretty good story actually.

I love Werewolf: The Apocalypse. I ran a short campaign here a couple years ago.

I have all the Buffy source books, but only played the game once (as a cocaine-fueled guidance counselor). It's definitely a favorite show, and my wife and I are very close to rewatching all of the series (and then Angel) for the fifth or sixth time.

I only have the Slayer's Handbook (players guide) and haven't actually ever played in a game of it. Barely ever made a character for it, but I'd really love to try it sometime. Maybe as a Whitehat or as a slayer if it's set after the series finale. I watch too much stuff on Youtube to rewatch the series again, no matter how much I love it.
