Kult: Divinity Lost (4th Edition) is a game for mature and adult audiences, set in the modern world. In this game, you will select a pre-generated character and engage in a conversation with the driver of a limousine.

This is a horror story that is extremely heavy on roleplaying and storytelling, with minimal-to-no combat. As a player, you will be expected to engage in the fiction for your pre-generated character.

I'm running this one-shot as a means to learn the rules of the game and to enjoy telling the story with you. I have zero experience playing or running this system, or any Powered by the Apocalypse system. If you want to explore the rules with me as we tell this story, I'd be happy to have you along for the ride.

This game uses a modified version of the PbtA rules. It has 2d10 instead of 2d6, with failure on a 10 or less, partial success on an 11-14, and total success on a 15+. You will not need to make any rolls until requested to do so; frivolous rolling may be met with twisted consequences.

The Controversy.

This story will have adult content. Absolutely no minors are allowed to apply, and by applying to this game you are agreeing that you are an adult and you are allowed to engage in a story that has explicit content.

Adult themes in this story include (but are not limited to): pornography, sex, LGBQ relationships and sexual acts, blackmail, murder, horror, existential horror, body horror, body mutilation, religion and religious themes, hypocrisy, stalkers, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and more. Be warned.

This game will not be public due to the mature themes.

The Characters.

You will take control of one of three pre-generated characters for this module:

• The Bishop. Man of power. Suit. Aristocratic face. Piercing eyes. Energetic body.
• The Actress. The fun party girl. Stylish clothes. Youthful face. Mischievous eyes. Petite body.
• The Photographer. Denim-wearing hunk. Bohemian clothes. Tired face. Passionate eyes. Graceful body.

You will keep your character sheet private, and you will reveal the secrets therein as the game progresses.

The Game.

I do not expect this game to last more than a few months. This is a one-shot designed to take about 3 hours in live play, so it should take about 4-6 weeks if we make daily posts.

I would like our posting rate to average around once every other day or so, or faster. Delays are fine, just let us know if it's going to take you a while. If you are the type of player who disappears for days on end with no communication, please do not apply.

The Flow.

This game will be a long conversation between the Driver (me) and your characters. I will be asking you challenging questions and making strange or obscene commentary. You will answer those questions, describe your emotions and your thoughts, and generally try to play the character you have chosen how you believe they should be played.

Important Note: This conversation opens with just the Driver and the Bishop conversing. The other two players can read along and comment with OOC text (and may even give suggestions to the player with what to write), but they will not be joining the conversation until a specific point in the game has been reached.

Next, the Actress will join the conversation, and the game will be between the Driver, the Bishop, and the Actress.

Finally the Photographer will join in, and the conversation will include all the players together.

Any adult comfortable with the mature themes can join. You do not have to know the rules, but I would like at least one person who has experience with PbtA rules, so I can ask questions and get help if needed.

This sounds like a pretty interesting game premise. I'm definitely up for it (I'm an adult and I'm okay with the adult themes). I would be primarily interested in the Actress, but would be alright with the Photographer as well, if she's taken.

However, I am already currently playing in another game of Kult here on GP, so I'd be happy to step back so more people can experience the game if there is enough interest. As for my experience, I've made a Kult character and played a bit of it so far, but haven't engaged a lot with the mechanics yet. I've also dabbled in some other PbtAs, but I wouldn't consider myself an expert.

I never played Kult yet, but it could be interesting.

- I've never heard of purely horror role playing game sessions in the past, so I admit I'm just here for the experience and what lies for me in this. So, the Bishop... what do you mean by man of power? Is he intimidating or just charismatic? Well, I can guess by the description, "Piercing eyes", that it's the former. Also, what exactly is an energetic body? Is he athletic?

- I don't know those two in particular. I've only played a few sessions of DnD 5E with my friends in college before we stopped because of time constraints.

Part of that will be up to you to determine and describe. We can go over it with more details in the game itself.
This game will be run a little easier than D&D. Just describe what you want to do for your character, and afterwards we will decide if some sort of dice roll is needed or not.

2) Are you going to be able to commit to posting to the game at least every other day, or faster?
3) Will you keep open communication with the group, especially concerning times when you will be absent from the game? (We will need to know if you are not going to be able to post for extended periods, so we're not just wondering if you quit or something).

2. I have my classes but it's not that hectic right now since we're finishing up our 2nd term. So, yes I can commit.
3. Yes, I'll keep open communication with the group, but I don't know about my internet provider, so if I suddenly don't reply, it's probably because of bad internet.
