Welcome @LizzyPinkHood
This thread is for your character creation. Take a look at welcome and character creation.

If you have any questions you can post them here or if you think they are general on the Q&A

LizzyPinkHood says:

I have an idea for a character, but I think charsheet would not allow me to edit traits, - due to high degree of customization you allow, I presume.
I am fine with custom content. Just nothing over powered. If you have an idea let me know and we can work on getting it to work with this system

I think I am more or less settled with what I want. If the following concept would not be possible to play - there are other finished concepts.

What I want to play is a human girl, who had a chancy encounter with criminal organization, and after some time spent alongside them participated in a heist, resulting in the theft from a talented artificer.

After partially successful operation girl took control of the stolen armaments and clockworks, setting out to carve her own path as a mercenary and adventurer — that's how she joins the expedition.

More or less this is background in a nutshell.

Mechanically-wise things are more complicated and there are several conflictint moments:

1) My character would have Human heritage, but due to either mixed heritage or younger age she is more similar to Small-sized creatures. This is both due to aesthetical preference and mechanical reasons, which will become clear soon;

2) I have always wanted to play a combination of shield and gun in D&D and other games, but there is often some issue with recreating this combination. If there are no firearms in Shattered Lands, then it could be a pseudo-firearm that uses magic as it's basis — mechanically I expect no advantages. If firearms are absolutely out of question, then it could be a crossbow or pistol-shaped wand, perhaps.
The second issue is that by RAW, shield + ranged weapon doesn't work. Can this be altered, perhaps with some trait?
In original book there was at least a trait that allows reloading and shooting as part of single action.

3) Finally, I want character to have a clockwork mount. This can be done through several ways - Tiny Dungeon has both Animal Companion and Mounts, I believe, but perhaps you could suggest a better option.

In the end, character I want to have is, providing a closest analogy with D&D 5e, is a Small Battlesmith Artificer with shield and a firearm. Perhaps background-wise character is a little shallow, but I have idea for belief and how she would play as a person.

I see no problems with any of that. Not so humans are 5 feet plus. And with unknown ancestry throwing in a bit of something else is fine. You can use anything in the books, I just tried to make it so players don't have to get them. Remember though that for this game characters start with their heritage, trade, weapon proficiency, and 2 traits.
Heritage: Human
Trade : Clockwork Thief
Proficient : Ranged
Weapon : Magitech Gun (just to avoid issues with gunpowder and bullets)
Animal companion : medium or large?
Shields Bearer
3rd trait from human heritage
You will get weapon Mastery or another trait pretty quick, after into arc

On the heritage, you could always go duende. Since duende encompasses halfing, goblin, and gnome, there is no reason it can't be extremely human-like. Or even a modified human (whether a half-breed, genetic variant, mutant, or whatever). So, while you are mechanically a duende, you are actually a type of human.

The cost of this is that you lose that third trait from human heritage. You also start with two less HP which, honestly, matches with your smaller size. The advantage is that you double-down on the Shield Bearer. As a human, the Shield Bearer only applies when you are actively evading. Meaning you have to expend a precious action to take advantage of the Shield Bearer trait. As a duende, you get Agility which means that you are basically always evading for free. This means that the Shield Bearer trait is always active with no action cost.

Just a thought ...

Thank you for an advice. While I appreciate it, I still think I would like to keep my choice of human heritage.
So, far, I think, the template would look somewhat like this.

@Psybermagi
Tell me if I should alter something, before filling out the official form.

OK it looks like you are good to go. You can go ahead and join the Patrol head to the Library or stick around the Base for a bit if your want
The patrol is going to do a walk through of the site, system, and game and has some info and links to other info to get you familiar with things. Post questions here or in the Q&A as needed. Game on :)

I tweaked your character sheet to add stats for your mount and adjusted it description so repairing is 1 hour/point of damage and it takes a day + materials to fix if totally destroyed
