Madame Josephine Hart
* The Party's Lightkeeper. *
Ocupation: Proprietor of The Drunk Vicar Tavern
Located in Red Lamp, The Drunk Vicar is everything wrong with, but fun, about the modern era. Drinking, gambling, and at least decent food draw in a good mix of people. From the burgeoning middle class looking to live it up for a short time, to the less stuck up Primacy looking to go slumming for a little while at least. More than a few off duty Periphary are usually on site both as patron and as security. Because of this, The Vicar's "comfort rooms" are considered some of the safest. Truly, if you have a need, Madame Hart is one of the best people to know anywhere in Newfaire. Her stage show is always seeking new talent, or for a modest cut of their earning, more intimate performances can find a table for a night. Or should you simply find yourself in need of a place to stay...out of sight shall we say...Madame Hart always has a place for her friends.
History with Candela Obscura: Those that know her well have at least heard about her husband, Oliver Hart. He was the previous owner of the Drunk Vicar. He was a good man, but he enjoyed his drink far to much. He nearly drank himself out of business every month. When the War broke out, he volunteered but was sent home for being too drunk all the time. It was a massive embarrassment for the man, though Josephine was glad he wasn't dying in a horrific battle. The rejection made him an angry drunk. That emotion drew in a spirit. It fed on his feelings and turned him into a raving lunatic. He killed himself one night and the next he was seen shambling through the streets, joining a throng of other ghoulish victims. Josephine met her first circle that night and helped put down the spirit that had claimed her husband. In the few years since she has worked to protect anyone she can from having to deal with such foul creatures.
