Definitely no rush since tomorrow is Thanksgiving. My kids are home from college, too, so I've got a lot going on. I'll be a bit scarce Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. After that, I'm good until Christmas.

We are level 2. Not sure how Brainiac will adjudicate your situation, so maybe do the leveling work but save your level 1 stats.

Do I have to roll for manifestation every single time or just the first time the spell is cast?

That, I believe, is DMs turf. When I run games, the mercurial effect is the same but the manifestation changes every cast. I understand it that mercurial effects are bound to the spell when you learn it and manifestations are born from how the web of wyrd is feeling in the moment you tap into it.

On the flip side, I like the idea that the Manifestation is also constant, representing the way you cast the spell vs some other wizard. I also frequently pick my manifestations if the GM approves, because it helps me shape the character.

Like a lot of things in DCC, I don't think there is a "wrong" answer. It's whatever the GM wants/allows.
