Sorry, I just copied/pasted from the book without explanation. The guy in chains is Darjr, the Magician. The one on the throne is an automaton. I'll post in-game to make that more clear.

To further clarify, we're just seeing an image of the guy in chains, right? He didn't actually appear in the room with us?

Yes, correct. If you want to find the real one, go up the others stairs! :D

Kind if want to send Aislynn on a fools errand and face off with that pig man. OR
Decapitate the wizard outright.

Depending on Brainiac’s answer, my backup plan is to Bless one of yall. Might as well be her

So is Tim's Flaming Hands spell truly lost for the day, or did he just fail?

Oh man how did I miss the fact that attacking the wizard hurts the torturer???

A failed spell is lost for the day. You may always spellburn 1pt to get another attempt though.

Doesn't the Mighty Deed happen? Just a question. The Deed Die was a 3. I was looking to decapitate the wizard. So...no decapitation?
The mighty deed triggers, but the strength of it is based on the number of the deed. It wouldn't out and out decapitate somebody just because you declare it as your deed, but it would certainly target the head/neck which would cause some other penalty if the wizard didn't have special rules regarding damage. At higher levels, when your mighty deed die gets bigger and you can roll a 7+, then I'd likely give the enemy a Fortitude save or instantly die from decapitation!

At any rate, Aislynn and Rook may still act this round.

DCC is my favorite; especially the warrior class. Fighters had become so boring to me in other games. The mighty deed mechanic only gets more powerful as you level up too.
Oh, nice hit. Don’t forget to roll damage 🤘🏼

I'm going to be scarce from Friday the 3rd through the 10th. My son is graduating college this weekend and then I have to pick up my daughter from her college the following Friday with a mini-vacation in-between. I should be able to check in once/day, but it's not guaranteed.

No problem. I figure that it's common courtesy. :)
