Quetza Kontor

Race: Aarakocra

Class: Cleric (Tempest Domain)

Languages: Common, Aakaroca, Auran, Dwarvish

Age: 10

Deity: Reyna, God of the Sea and Storm (Tempest Domain)

Personality Trait: I have my own ideas about what is and is not food, and I find the eating habits of those around me fascinating, confusing, or revolting.

Ideal: Everything is new, but I have a thirst to learn.

Bond: I aim to clear my name to the village, and earn the respect of others for once.

Flaw: I am terribly awkward around others and am afraid of becoming a disappointment in front of others, like back home.

Backstory: Quetza was born (or rather, hatched) and raised in the small Aarakocra village of Apet, in the cliffs of the Halia Coast. He was considered a bit of a runt, and so was rather looked down upon by his peers. However, he proved himself to be surprisingly hardy and perceptive, though his coordination could have used some work, and he was not entirely bright. Often nervous around his peers because of this, he tended to be by himself a lot for the first few years of his life. However, one day, the Storm-Speaker of Apet died of old age, and the shaman declared him to be the next Storm-Speaker, much to the chagrin of the village who believed he was not the right Aarakocra for the job, especially since the Storm-Speaker would have to help defend the village. He always found himself bumbling at his job, and soon after he began his Storm-Speaker term the darkness began to set in. Naturally, Quetza was blamed for this, and the villagers had to evacuate. Not even his family dared travel with him in shame. He began to travel alone, and soon he heard of Seren. Figuring that it was his last shot at a safe haven, he made haste to fly there.

Location: While mostly living on mountains and tall trees, there are small groups that settled in alcoves on the cliffs of the western coast of Sieldar, referred to as the Halia Coast. The Aarakocra that live here resemble ospreys, and are known for their fishing. These communities are mostly self sufficient and rarely interact with outsiders, usually having prejudices towards them. If there is a tempest domain god, these communities typically each select one from their community to be the Storm-Speaker, the one who is to become a cleric of the tempest god to keep them safe from storms that hit their coast by attempting to appease the god, and is also expected to lead the others if defending the village from attackers is needed.
