Brittney Timothy looks back and catches a glimpse of a large two tailed cat (about the size of Daasz) with ghostly flame covering part of it's body

A bit of folklore is brought to your remembrance through prayer and the sight of the creature

The creature is standing on its hind legs on the trail about 50 yards behind you and starting at you intently.

Daasz

At your pause and glance backwards Daasz looks back as well and freezes The nekomata! Why is it here? What can we do? he whispers in fight. It birthday is high on the hills. It may not follow us if we endure the waters but swamp waters have dangerous all their own. and he looks around for a solution as he grips his spear

As Brother Timothy catches sight of the nekomata, his heart quickens momentarily with a mix of concern and recognition.

He takes a small step backward, careful not to make any sudden movements that might provoke the nekomata's hostility. His gaze remains locked onto the creature. He leans slightly towards Daasz, his voice a mere whisper as he communicates their next steps. "Daasz, stay still and quiet. We need to assess the situation carefully."

Taking another deep breath, he makes a decision, his gaze shifting briefly to Daasz before focusing back on the nekomata. With measured steps, he begins to move backward, urging Daasz to maintain a steady and cautious pace. He navigates the uneven terrain of the swamp path towards the water, all the while keeping a watchful eye on the nekomata.

We don't know what's in the water, but we definitely know what's in front of us. Let's take a careful course to get away from the Nekomata and then when it's out of sight, make a swift return to the path.

He then continues into the water until the Nekomata is out of sight, and quickly returns to the path not wanting to risk much time in the water.

The cat watches you and takes half a step forward raising a paw. As soon as you you enter the water is halts and hisses while glaring at you. As you continue into the water Daasz follows muttering prayers and looking around the water nervously. The water soon is almost to your waist, Daasz is hopping nervously with the water almost to his chin, when the flames on the nekomata valish causing you to lose sight of it. A feral hissing snarl is all you have to go on and it sounds as if the nekomata is leaving. Pausing only a moment you are beat by Daasz who starts heading back to more sure footing before pausing to wait for you and climbing up out of the water with you.
As you return to the trail you feel light headed. Daasz you note is quickly disrobing...
Roll a Save Test (2d6). You pass with any dice rolling 5 or 6.

Thank you for allowing me to play this game. I've enjoyed being a part of it. However, I need to drop out due to feeling a bit overextended at the moment. I want to emphasize that I think you've done a great job as the GM, and I appreciate the opportunity to play. I hope the game continues to be enjoyable for everyone
