Game On

Ruben tries his best impression of a karate kick, targeting the boom box and hoping to smash its speakers to silence it.
"Wooo-eeeeeeeeeee!"

Reuben's kick connects with the boombox, sending it crashing to the ground. It explodes with a crackle, and a burst of light. The tone sputters. The DJ reels backwards, shrieking. It's like whatever power has been pulsing through the beatbox is now being channeled into him, and him alone, and as you watch, his head begins to pulse with light, slowly ballooning outwards.

The Vines release Rachel, retreating. The bats scatter to retreat back into the cieling, retreating away from Bob. The DJ's girlfriend, out of the influence of the Tone, drops like a ragdoll.

You can just hear confused voices outside, and then increasing panic as people come back to their senses and realize exactly what's been happening to them.

The DJ claws at his face, screaming, his voice now replaced with the Tone. But that's far too much power to be contained in one person, not without some kind of conduit.

The flesh starts to crack, bleeding a blinding light and deafening sound, accompanied by sprays of blood.

His grin for the destroyed boombox vanishes as he sees the DJ head about to burst!
"SHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHIT!"

"Wait for me!" Rachel shrieks as she runs!

Rachel stumbles as a massive tremor shakes the very foundations of the Metroskate. Ruben and Henrietta reach the Exit of the Laser Tag arena first, and burst back out into the skating ring. It's complete and utter pandemonium, people running back and forth, clawing at their eyes and screaming, at how they and their surroundings are covered in blood. People start swarming towards the exits.

"What the HELL. We are back in the rink!" The sights and sounds are terrifying and the confusion in the rink is adding to hers.

"What do we do now?" she shrieks at Ruben.

"We run for the doors!" he shouts before bolting.

He will run for the locked entrance doors and will try to smash the lock mechanism hitting it hard repeatedly with his trusted fire extinguisher.

"OPEN...[smash!]...YOU...[smash!]...GODDAMN..[smash!]....LOCK....[smash!]...OPEN!!"

The lock breaks and the doors swing open. The crowd of people pushing behind you all shove you out of the doors. Just as you were welcomed to the Metroskate with a blaze of lasers, your exit is now lined with the blaring of sirens and flashes of red and blue.

You all are ushered away from the building, to what is deemed a safe distance.
As you turn and watch the building...

A screech like microphone feedback rings through the air. A bright burst of light erupts from inside the Metroskate, shattering the windows, though thankfully nothing else comes crawling out.
The Tone dissipates like a low hum on the night air, into silence.

He drops on the ground, witnessing the spectacle. The Tone being silenced is a relief, as the pressure on Ruben's brain finally relents.

"Hot damn, that was some awful sound..." he comments massaging his ears.
"Ugh... Do y'all think the brains of that crazy DJ are wallpapering the whole place, in there?..."

Henrietta shields her eyes but the relief her ears feel is almost palpable and mitigates the blinding light somewhat.

"I hope so, Ruben. I really do."

Henrietta says goodbye so she can go home and sleep it off, thankful that she made it out alive and vowing never to go to Metroskate or any skating rink ever again.

Ruben makes himself scarce as the police start questioning survivors. With his line of business -and due to certain possessions he carries on him- he has to be super careful.

He says goodbye to his companions and disappears, blending in the city streets...
