Hey there,

We can continue the character creation (and any other character build/mechanics discussion) here, otherwise we'll have another thread where the story/game will actually take place.

Relic
Idunn's Mead Flask, 1 charge. This beautifully crafted, ornate flask made of polished bone adorned with intricate engravings of lush orchards and ripe fruit allows the user to lose 2 fatigue when they drink from it. They then are required to make a STR save. A fail leaves the PC drunk for the next hour.

The Relic History
Hilmir's grandfather , Bjorn, hailed from a distant land across the seas. He was a sailor and notorious plunderer who roved the vast oceans, seeking riches and adventure. Bjorn was part of a crew known for its audacious raids on coastal settlements and the plundering of temples.

One fateful voyage, Bjorn's crew made landfall on the shores of the land that Hilmir and his father would come to call home. Inside the temple, Bjorn discovered Idunn's Mead Flask, nestled among a trove of ancient treasures. The flask's beauty and craftsmanship captivated him, and he claimed it as his own, unaware of the artifact's significance.

His Last Job:
Hilmir's last job was intended to be a routine merchant escort mission, and despite his age, he remained confident in his abilities. Over the years, he had successfully completed numerous similar assignments, establishing a reputation as a reliable protector of those in transit. However, during this particular mission, unforeseen chaos unfolded.

Strangely enough, the band of thugs who attacked them were not seasoned criminals, but rather a gang of inexperienced, young individuals seeking to make a name for themselves.

Hilmir's previous employers are now grappling with two conflicting theories. The first theory suggests that Hilmir was bested by this young, inexperienced group of thugs, raising doubts about his competence and fitness for the job. The second theory, questions whether Hilmir, given his decades of experience, could have possibly been defeated by such novices. This theory raises suspicions that Hilmir might have had ulterior motives during the mission—perhaps an attempt to secure valuable items for himself. The shadow of his grandfather's reputation still lingers over his family, and it adds a layer of complexity to the situation.

Perfect thanks for getting that all in there. One final backstory thing I'd like to confirm to make sure I understand.

So basically you were part of a mercenary crew, they were contracted for this job to escort a merchant. You assured you could handle it, the escort got mugged and now rumors are flying. You're running away in shame, they are suspicious and some even think you set everything up to take those goods.

Do I pretty much have it? If so, does this crew have a name of some kind? Or a specific leader? (If you'd prefer I can just fill that in).

You’ve summarized it perfectly.

I don’t have any specifics on the crew. I’m happy to come up with some or improv with whatever you come up with.

Sounds good! Today I'm going to create another Thread outlining how I'm going to be running things just so everyone is on the same page, and try to setup character sheet templates, so we should be able to get started soon.

You do not have permission to post in this thread.
