Dragonbane - replacement player

This game just came out officially in august. I would like to run the game using the adventure book that comes with it. There is I think 12-13 adventures creating a campaign. I am going to add some other elements into the game as well which may modify the adventures in the book. I would like anyone who wants to play, commit to one adventure at least though I am planning on running the campaign.

I would say it is a rules medium game. Easy to grasp and play but with some detail and plenty of optional rules.

Now I am running this game for the first time though I have been a GM for over 40 years. Normally I try to post from work to keep things going but since this is new I will most likely need to be home to post. This means 4 to 5 post per week though more if things get flowing but at least 4 per week.

I would be looking for 3 to 6 players though 4 to 5 I think might work best. I am reading through the rules again as well as the adventures and figuring how best to adapt to PBP.


There are some interesting races to play and each race has its own uniqueness to them.
The races are: Human , halfling, elf, dwarf, Mallard, and wolfkin

There are 8? starting professions which help determine your starting skills and previous experience but then it is classless.

There is a quick-start available but the adventure in it is part of the campaign. There is prerolled character that can be used or you can create your own. I will help with character creation and post relevant rules needed for the game.

One more thing, it looks like combat maybe deadly unless you are careful.

I'm interested and I own the kickstarter ruleset (with pdfs). I play in my local group, where we decide to roll everything, rase, class ect all of it. And while that produces some strange and odd characters, it has prevented me from playing a wizard

My first home rule is that the heroic ability for a class should be treated as a suggestion, not a mandatory selection. But what is your thoughts on that?

I have also considered how to handle the xp-per-game-session on PBP. I would suggest treating one month of real-time as a game session. (At the end of a game session, GM would ask a series of questions, you would get 1 xp for each question and you could agree on. E.i. Did you explore a new location? Were you pressent at the gamesession? And more)

I sent invites. FYI I am still reading through the rules and adventure again but we can get started on character creation so that I will be ready for running the game as we finish up there.

In another thread runekyndig, you mentioned creating a character sheet. If you can do that go for it and let me know when it is done.

I ran the Quickstart adventure here during the Kickstarter, and loved it. Got my boxset sitting proudly on my shelf.

This game is eating at me. I too have the starter set sitting on my shelf in all its glory. Hope everyone has fun and hope next time this comes up I'm more available to join in the fun!
