Ok. This is up to you of how much role-playing there is besides dungeon crawls. I am responding to you but also addressing the whole group so they know how I am approaching things.
I said upfront that I am using the adventure book that came with the game. I also said that the game in the quickstart is part of the campaign. Riddermound is the adventure in the qs and is suggested for the first one in the adventure book. I also asked if anyone has read or played it to let me know and this is the first time anyone has said anything that they had.
Secondly some of the adventures can be handled as dungeon crawl or almost purely role-playing depending on how the party plays them.
Third, the arching plot of the campaign will require role-playing on the party end. I am also adding another subplot which requires role-playing.
So there will be both, how much on one end or the other really depends on you and the other players. My one on one games are almost pure role-playing character development type games. So I am fine running that style game. Since I am new to this game and I like the campaign overall, I am trying to run it near as written but adding some extra interactions as well. Also you between "dungeons" as not all are in a dungeon you will be interacting with other adventure groups and the people of outskirt.
So far we are only in the first inn and not even into the campaign adventure book at all. I want player interaction, I want to see personalities of the character, I want to make this seem like a living breathing world at the same time there will be dungeon crawling for various reasons. Also some players might not want to have tons of personal interactions. So I will gm accordingly, but much of it will depend on how you play the game.
You need to decide if this is a game for you. I am going to estimate probably 50/50 for the average game group on dungeon crawl/ role-playing spectrum. I will not lie as there is dungeon crawling involved in the campaign, the other side is truly dependent on you if the percentage goes up or down.
