Strong, tall, loud, and direct. The Commander is everything one would expect an Upper Echelon command agent. Graduate of the Systems Commonwealth Naval academy with high marks - it was his military experience that lead him to being the Executive Officer of the Sojourner. His jacket showed a great deal of merits for his undercover work infiltrating and eradicating a rogue faction within the System's Commonwealth aristocracy. The experience changed him, for the better and worse.

He only has one rule: "Keep your politics and religion to yourself on the ship. We all have to work together here."

Born into the mix of the successful McLeod family (McLeod Exploration Corp.), prolific miners, drillers and frackers operating on several moons of Jupiter as well as sections of the outer Asteroid Belt they owned claims to, James spent the initial 4 decades of his life first learning and then operating the mechanical beasts used to grind the lifeblood out of mineral veins of celestial bodies, and working the rigs to extract gas and, in some cases, oil (where single cell organisms were present, such as Jupiter's satellite Europa).

At 40 earth years of age, both shunned by his family and fired by the corporation after a violent incident with a company man, James enlisted in the Military. After living life as a cog in the machine and breaking his body for disloyal family, he seeks a martial rebirth, a new home among brothers in arms.

He's strong in body, has more heart than modern society allows for and is an avid reader of books from centuries, sometimes millennia, ago. He values honor above most things.
