Technology of the late 21st Century

I think we will need a glossary of terms at the least

Sure! My three contributions:
1. HCK Deck - wireless mobile codebreaking device
2. Breaching jack - motorized jack for breaching airlocks. These kind of exist, but you know, this one is more advanced.
3. Blast Shields for Our Helmets with whatever the future version of LIDAR would be.

Blast Shields: I feel like this technology would have advanced to incorporate both real-world scanning and 3D volumetric video by the time this game is set. Since both techniques are possible, if not crude, currently.

I used the term LiDAR because it was the thing that came to my head, I think that the radiation originating from the Commander may interfere with it. I wasn't thinking about that when I posted, but that might be happen.

LiDAR - Light Detection and Ranging, is a remote sensing method that uses light in the form of a pulsed laser to measure ranges (variable distances) to the Earth. This tech already exists. I think the Kinect may have been the first consumer grade lidar scanner. If you have an iPhone 13, you have a LiDAR scanner.

Here's some links about LiDAR if your interested:
Realworld applications
Guy scanning stuff with Polycam
Kinect example with Realtime point cloud
This isn't liDAR but it is 3D video and it's cool

The other tech works, because it's the future and just a little better than what exists now? Sorry about being wordy about liDAR, I just think it's really really cool.
