Halwyld looks over at the corner with the couple, curious about what the server was talking about regarding their feel.
OOC:
anything interesting about those two?
Oct 15, 2023 8:23 pm
As you look over at the two people sitting in the corner. At first glance they seem fairly non-descript. The smaller one has their back to you and has their hood up so you cannot tell who or what they. The bigger of the two is and older human and while eating is also watching the crowd in the room. Their cloths you notice though looking at seem like common cloths you notice do not have any wear on them and without getting closer seem well made. As you watch them the older one looks at you, his eyes catch yours watching him.

"I must be honest to say I'm not familar in these parts. Would Outskirt be on the way to the Iron Forest?" Felskrudd asks.
Oct 16, 2023 3:24 pm
Outskirts is the only real town in the valley. The road here through the pass leads there.

I haven't been there do I only know what I have been told. I think the forest is to the west of it.
Oct 17, 2023 3:02 am
As the older one locks eyes with Halwyld, he lifts his mug up in greeting, and with a smile takes a swig.

Half listening to the waitresses conversation, "Outskirt seems a good a place as any, lads."
Oct 17, 2023 3:48 am
Fermer thanks the waitress. He sees the man at the other table eyeing them. He turns his face away.

"I’m not sure what you all had in mind. However that location in the Iron Forest is as good of a direction for me to point as any other."
Oct 17, 2023 4:42 pm
The waitress leaves and another swings by with rest of your food and drink.

As you sit and talk, the couple you watched get up and head upstairs to a room. You get the impression the other person maybe female.

As it is getting later in the evening. It seems the merchants are also getting ready to head to bed. The other group who looks to be adventures are still full swing into drinking and gambling.

A few others enter the inn but they seem to be locals.
Oct 18, 2023 11:59 am
Krisanna finishes her drink and approaches the trio of dwarves, smiling up at the taller men. "Couldn't help but overhear your conversation. Thought you might need somebody crafty to join your crew. The name's Krisanna. Krisanna the Bold. I'd be happy to join your party, for a fair share of any loot we might find along the way."
Oct 19, 2023 3:32 am
"Hello Krisanna. I’m Fermer. I can’t speak for the others but I’d be happy to have you. They say that your sort is lucky." Fermer kicks a chair out for Krisanna to join the group.

He watches the other group of adventurers. They seem to be rolling dice, now. If the gambling moves over to cards, he may try to get in. But until then he continues to talk with the group at his table.

When there’s a lag in the conversation Fermer reignites it with "Have any of you been on any big adventures or explorations yet? Let’s hear it."

"I am but a humble merchant. Or I was a couple of days ago. I am afraid I hired the wrong adventurers and bandits got away with all my goods," Felskrudd sighs. "Though my heroic escape was quite adventurous. Though I rarely make the same mistake twice and you all seem quite heroic."
Oct 21, 2023 6:14 pm
The mage that had spoke with you seems ill at ease and after a few more comments about him for the way he introduced himself to the inn. He seems to get red in the face and embarrassed and storms out of the inn slamming the door behind him.

As your group forms things seems to settle in the inn.
OOC:
After Stalker joins your group, i will have you settle in for the night and then head off to the adventure proper.

It was dusk when Browyn reached the doors of the Drunken Dragon. He has been wandering all day, making sure that he has taken the right path through the Vale to reach this town. His robes are filled with dust, and with his unkempt hair tucked in the hood, he has seen better days, and for more civilised areas like this, he definitely needs a bath. But the life of a hunter is not for the civilised folks; they belong to the wild, and the wild provides for them and nurtures them. However, the wild is also dangerous and unpredictable at night, and for a lone hunter like him, he needs the safety of a town like this. The warm hearth, a thatched stable for the night, and some warm meals before he sets out again the next day.

Browyn, gently pushed the door open and entered the Drunken Dragon. It was quite late, and he was hoping for a vacant patron gathering. So, he instantly noticed the curious gathering of a trio of dwarves and a halfling. He silently walked towards one of the empty tables and took a seat beside the gathering of dwarves and halfling, waiting for someone to notice him.

Fermer nods as Felskrudd speaks. As a man settles into the table next to them, Fermer nods in acknowledgement of him as well. Then he refocuses his attention to the table.

"I see… I’m a knight. I was trained at the Citadel, and felt that adventure made for a better form of practice than just running drills once a month like some of the other landed gentry. So here I am. I want to do some good and home my skills at the same time. "
Oct 23, 2023 11:39 am
Krisanna smirks. "Well, I've had a few misadventures. Suffice to say that I've come to the Vale seeking a fresh start. So here's to going on some new adventures together!"
Oct 23, 2023 8:52 pm
Halwyld grins as the party starts to form, "And what of you, newcomer?" talking to the robed figure next to them. "We've lost a wizard's magiks, but perhaps your bow can be a worthy replacement?"

Browyn looked at the Dwarf and smiled when he was questioned. He left his table and came to join the group. "Do I hear a possible company of adventurers planning to go out into Vale? In that case, I, Browyn Silentstep, can provide you with my skills as a guide. I am a hunter, and even though these lands are vast and unknown, I am confident I can guide you through it's perils. As for my bow, if you would give me some spoils of your adventure, it will be yours in aid."
Oct 24, 2023 1:38 pm
"Sounds like a fair trade, and then some." nodding at the hunter.
OOC:
is it evening now? If so, worth taking off now, or waiting til morning?
Oct 24, 2023 4:23 pm
OOC:

"I’m sure we’d be glad to have you. It’ll be good to have a someone who knows their way around the wilderness. "
OOC:
Sounds good. I just want to be sure we have whatever supplies we’d need.

OOC:
You can buy what you like with the money you have. I will assume you got it before the adventure starts and don't forget rations. You can hunt for them but it will slow you down traveling though.
You leave the inn early that morning beginning your trek into the Misty Vale. The odd couple from the night before is missing but the other adventuring party is still present, not really moving as some still sleep off their ale, while others seem blurry-eyed.

The servant girls are quick to provide a simple breakfast and bundle up any provisions that you ordered. You are then off to find your possible fame, glory and riches.

The ancient and narrow pass runs through the mountains like an axe gash. Steep, moss-covered slopes rise to the
snow-laden peaks that can occasionally be glimpsed through the veils of cloud. Somewhere ahead lies the Misty
Vale, the legendary place where the empires of old stored their wealth and magical artifacts.

It is the rumor of these treasures that has brought you here – the vast riches and arcane secrets hidden among
the ruins on the other side of the mountains. And you are not the first to be lured by such temptations. Since the orcs
started leaving the area, about a decade ago, a growing stream of settlers and adventurers have made their way to
the Misty Vale.

But you know the way is treacherous and fraught with peril. The old imperial roads have crumbled and the mountains are teeming with danger. The Drakmar Pass, where you now find yourself, is particularly infamous. The dwarves of the Kummer Mountains have warned that the humans’ return has attracted brigands and ravenous beasts to the area.

Your fears come true when you suddenly hear a disconcerting cry. You see a figure kneeling in the middle of the rocky trail, only twenty or so meters ahead of you. The figure is one of the two of the couple from the day before. Their back is to you as they hold a staff in their hand and sack or bundle lies at their feet. That is not all that lies there as the other larger person lies at their feet.

OOC:

The green dot is where the person is.

You can choose your color, first come first serve.

The arrow is the donkey and the square the cart, Felskrudd is the black dot on the cart.

We are not in combat so you can let me know what you are doing. I only ask that you take one action (order does not matter.)

Each square is two meters.
