I was also thinking Nightcrawler-ish teleportation. I have been thinking that after teleporting he radiates a field that negates powers in a few-foot radius around him, but that field dissipates after 30 seconds or something.
When coming up with the character, I didn't want him to have two powers completely unrelated to each other, so that's why I came up with this. Currently I'm thinking the power negation is not voluntary (though maybe he'll learn to control it). So when teleporting teammates in a fight, he needs to drop them off then port away real quick.
An alternate idea would be that the teleporting process itself negates powers of those he takes with him. That would be more inconvenient for the team, however. Though it might add to his loner nature.
