Hi I'm Clovermite,
As the title of this thread suggests, I really like to play eccentric characters, usually talkative ones. For me, some of the most fun I have while roleplaying is when I can do something kinda off the wall that I find funny in a session. I like my characters to have some weird quirk that I can lean into (like being obsessed with stealing and eating food or refusing to carry weapons and instead trying to lie his way out of trouble). I also like to lean into my character motivations, even if it means making "bad decisions" from a meta standpoint if I think it's what my character would like to do. At the same time, I recognize that too much chaos isn't fun for the other players, so I try to reign it in when I've had a little fun and give the other players their moments of glory.
As for interests, I generally prefer sci-fi to fantasy, so I really like settings like Star Wars, Shadowrun, and Warhammer 40K (though I've yet to roleplay in a 40K setting). I have a little experience with D&D 5th edition, so depending on the scenario/campaign I'm interested in playing some of that. I'm a big fan of the Cosmere, and I've consequently had a good amount of experience playing the Mistborn Adventure Game as part of a podcast my brother runs (Lost Legends of Scadrial). Generally speaking, I'm not interested in vampires, werewolves, and those kind of "supernatural" settings. I really enjoyed the videogames Sunless Seas and Cultist Simulator, so if anyone ran an RPG in either of those universes I would be interested in playing.
With regards to other game systems, I have some experience with Fate Core, and I played a game of Eclipse Phase. As for experience with playing by post, I really only did it once several years ago on a one shot Pathfinder scenario. But I've had the itch to do some roleplaying again now that my brother has gotten too busy for the podcast, and play by post seems like a good way to jump in.
