I think Commander Murray would have a fair shot at connections with any of the other characters.

As for Ms. Taylor, maybe she and Friday met up at a Monaco Le Mans race where Friday ran afoul of the Mystery of the "Formula1 Fantomé" and sought Ms. Taylor's advice and gadgeteering skill to uncover the mystery racer in the glowing racecar running racers off the track. Maybe that's the race where Ms. Taylor was disfigured(?)
I love it! Let's go with that.

Character sheet is now public.

I forgot to give that one a case name... How about:
The Case of the Formula1 Fantomé, or Menace in Monaco

Just a point of clarification, Windy, you’re listing your character as Laura Taylor now. Is this an alias? You had described her earlier as Shirley Muldowney, so I’m trying to understand if that was just a name change or something else.
It was a I forgot I had already named her, name change. 😳😁

Menace in Monaco!
It'd be both names. Back in the era of pulp mystery stories, that I cribbed Friday's theme from, stories often had two or more titles so I was going with that as an homage to her origins 😁

Ah yes.

Weis and Murray were in Berlin together. Working for INTERPOL in 1965, catching The Red Falconne before he could assassinate the German Chancellor with an untraceable poison.

Montenegro, 1966. Murray and Taylor meet as she's the assigned getaway driver for Hank and his head-bagged communist missile specialist...

As for Girl Friday, she and the Commander definitely met on-site where her father was conducting tests -- the Atacama Murders.

I think I like Hank. I think I like him very much.

Oh! Okay. I just want to make sure I understand! Thanks!

Thank you, everyone, for your patience! I know I already said it, but these characters are great and I’m really excited to see how things go with this group of brilliant, amusing spies!

The placeholder post over in the "Episode 1" thread has been updated! We’re off!

Please speak up if anyone has any strong opinions on where they would like to chat about the game? Should we just use OOC blocks in the episode? Should I build a "Episode 1: Player Discussion" thread? What’s going to work best for all of you?

[[ EDIT: Looks like Harrigan created a Discord channel for us! ]]

Two questions as we start:

1. Do you want feedback / ideas on the system as we go?
2. The actual Impact die, the d12 we all start with. It's a limiter on the size of die we can ever roll, it's our health and willpower, it's our ability to steer the fiction. But it never actually gets rolled, right? The die size depends on the difficulty of the task. Yeah?

Absolutely!

Correct. The Impact Die sets the "upper" limit, but is not actually rolled.Rolls are based on the difficulty of the task being attempted. So, if Commander Murray is attempting a Simple task (D20), but has been through the wringer and currently has an Impact Die of D8, that’s what he’ll roll even on a Simple (D20) task.

Now for Mr.Weis... Perhaps they met while Mr. Weis was on holiday auditioning for a plum part in a small production by a highly esteemed (and very eccentric) director in his rural hometown. The two ran into each other trying to figure out the disappearance of the Lead Understudy. The Understudy faked his disappearance to frame the director and it took Friday's smarts and Weis' acting skills to uncover the truth and clear the director of charges. AKA: The Case of the Hostile Hostel, or the Underhanded Understudy.
Brilliant, I approve.

A strange pairing of personalities, but these things are often a fly by the seat of your pants affairs. Whoever is in the office when the call comes in is tasked!

This works for Laura but she has to work hard at not staring at Hank's handsome face especially since its near perfection is in stark contrast to her own hideously disfigured visage.

We can move ahead to the montage as well.

Missed this. You could have borrowed the head-bag!
