I have a convention I am assisting in running in two weeks, so my responses will be slow or perhaps non-existent until March 4. Please forgive delays.

The con was a lot of fun! Our Gaming Guest of Honor was Shane Hensley, of Savage Worlds fame, and both our Author Guest of Honor (Max Gladstone, Empress of Forever and Last Exit) and our Media Guest of Honor (Jake Stormoen, The Outpost) joined us in playing games! Jake and Max even underwent the Klingon Day of Honor ceremony where they pronounce their great deeds for the year and bring honor to their house (our local Star Trek club does the ceremony every year for anyone who wishes to undertake it). I'm sorry to take so long to get back to this. It's been a whirlwind three days since the convention with wrap-up details (getting people to the airport, paying taxes, etc.).

may be a little quiet this weekend. I was just let go from my job today. would have had my 10 -year anniversary in june. not sure if I will be shutting down for a few days or going batshit crazy trying to distract myself. we shall see.

I'll be jumping in to introduce my PC as soon as I can, but I also am catching up on reading everything that's come before now.

I am still actively here but had a horrendous situation unfold yesterday (can this year get any worse? I don’t think so at this point) so if I misunderstand a post or don’t communicate clearly, please let me know. My brain is a bit … muddled as I cope with reality. My husband lost a his best friend since high school; a man I had also become very close friends with. They were basically brothers and were living together when I met my partner. Life is exhausting.

I can understand and sympathize. Two years ago, my best friend since high school (I'm 54) committed suicide. He was very much my brother. You and your husband have my deepest condolences. Take the time you need and we'll see you when you feel up to returning.
